I was surprised to even find this washer/dryer that ships to Hawaii with such a nice affordable price. Keeping the price in mind, I wasn’t expecting much more than a toy. It shipped really quick and upon arrival I was shocked at the size and weight of the washer; it wasn’t difficult to carry up our steep driveway. Upon opening this little gem, I noticed a burnt wire smell. My husband, an electrician, did not. So I read the booklet and tried it out on a small load of whites; no bleach, just a small squirt of Dr. Bronner’s spearmint Castile soap (great all around cleaner)., and warm water. I had placed the machine into our shower stall for easy filling and draining. I bypassed the filling hose and just put our shower head into the wash side, threw in four items and turned the timer. It’s hard not to just stand there and be amazed as this cute little washer did it’s thing. In a few minutes it was done so I drained it and filled it once more and let it run for a few minutes, drained again and threw half the items into the “dryer” (spinner). At first it had a hard time getting to its maximum spin speed so I stopped it and added the other items (soaking wet) put the plastic insert back in, closed the lid, twisted the timer and held the machine steady til it got up to maximum speed. No problem. When water stopped coming out of the drain hose I turned it off nd to my surprise the items were nearly dry and totally clean! Next I tried my husband’s work shirts. You know those hi vis polyester stain suckers? 4 in and this time used some shampoo and cold water. They came out cleaner than they ever had using any of our regular washers! Freakishly clean! No smell like they usually have after washing! Had to run them a few times but not longer than it would take to wash them in a regular washer. Unbelievable. I immediately thought of all my handwashable garments that would benefit from this washer and even the dry clean only items I could use this washer for! In conclusion, the burnt smell had no adverse effects. I love the intimacy this washer gives you with your clothing. The only cons were a rusty screw we found under a sticker under the dryer lid but it just had some water caught in there. My husband checked the undercarriage and motor and found no other corrosion. We replaced that screw with a brass one. It may be a hassle for some to do so many small loads but I love my clothes so I don’t mind and this washer does such a great job and saves on soap and drying time so it pays itself off in no time. The machine was awesome when I received it in mid-April. I was so impressed I told all my family and cried s about it. Does an awesome job in washing and spin drying. Now I’m in mid-June and I’ve only used the machine about 6-7 times and it just gave out. I used the machine as directed and it just stopped o working. Not even 2 months with it and it just stopped working. I’m sitting here now looking at a new machine that I was very impressed with and it only gave me 2 months of service and it was only used 6-7 times in two months. So if you decide to purchase the machine please get the warranty on it. I’m very unhappy with the outcome. Spent money on something I could only use a couple of times. Now I’m left looking for another machine by a different maker maybe it will last longer. ... show more

I too was tired of dealing with laundromats. Bought this recently and I was pleasantly surprised in a lot of ways. It's not complicated to set up; to begin, it's very light. Plug it in and the dials are pretty straightforward. Just know that if you have to drain it, the "Spin" function on the middle dial seems to allow you to do that, which is what I did not realize at first. A few things to note: The washer half holds a good amount but don't overfill it. The plastic piece/lid that comes with it is also incredibly important when spinning to dry clothes. Use it to keep the things beneath it evenly weighed down and flat or else it won't spin as fast as it's supposed to and thus may stay too wet. Not using it will also cause the machine to wobble dramatically. As others mentioned, it spins enough to wring out most of the moisture when done correctly but it is not a dryer. This appliance works very well so far. I'm extremely happy with it and am glad to have finally made the move to get it. Very much worth every cent to not have to haul everything up and down flights of stairs then drive to a public venue and back. ... show more

The washer does exactly what is says it can do. We did 4 loads today, almost immediately after getting it out of the box and experienced no issues. Washed our clothes well and the spin dry section leaves your clothes almost dry as advertised. The issues relate to the drain hose and the fill hose. There both useless. The fill.hose doesn't connect to anything in our home. The drain hose is way to short and that leaves you having to either hold it while it drains or have something hea y sit on it while you let it drain. This isn't a huge issue but if it was 3 or 4 feet longer you would have more options as to how and where you set it to drain. We are overall very happy we purchased this and hope it continues ues to work for awhile. ... show more

I bought this because I first had purchased a WonderWash, one of the manual laundry machines. It has a really small load size and it’s honestly a hassle to wash clothes in, so I upgraded to this. The spin cycle in this one is a godsend. I can spin clothes 5 pounds at a time for 5 minutes and they’ll feel almost completely dry. The only tricky part with this machine is making sure you have space to drain it, so I put it on my kitchen counter by the window and it drains into the sink.
