FAQ Q1:Why the solar can not produce 100W power when charging to power station? As we all know, the power generation of solar panels is affected by many factors. For example, the irradiance of light and the receiving angle of the panel. The rated power of 100W is the power tested under standard conditions (AM1.5, 25°C, 1000W/m2). Irradiance and temperature are the main factors that affect the power generation of solar panels. In the actual working environment, the irradiance and temperature are constantly changing, and there are also efficiency losses in mobile power station charging. It is impossible to charge 100% of solar power. Into the mobile power station. Therefore, the rated output power cannot be produced. Q2:Why our solar panels are not compatible with Goalzero Yeti In order to adapt to most of the mobile power stations on the market, the open circuit voltage of the solar panel is set to about 24V, while the adaptation voltage of Goalzero is narrow, only 12-22V. When Goalzero detects that the input voltage exceeds 22V, it will prohibit charging. . So it is not compatible (if you are a Goalzero user, please let us konw, we will give you a custom step-down box to reduce the voltage to 21V to fit your power station). Q3: Why does the 14.4V port need to be activated to measure the voltage? The 14.4V interface is a dedicated interface for battery charging. For safety reasons, this output is allowed to supply power only when the battery is detected. • Is this 60 Watt?
Not sure about the claim of 100 Watts. I have run it for a couple of days now in direct sun, no clouds, and the best i have seen the meter read was 52 Watts. I can't give this five starts unless it outputs what is claims it can. Sorry

  • Buyer beware
Buyer beware. I read some good reviews on this unit and bought the solar panels primarily for charging my Goal Zero 500x in good faith, that it would do what it advertised it would do. The 19v DC output listed, lined up to the input on the power unit, or do I thought. However there is a Step Down unit that comes with these solar panels to reduce the voltage from 25v to 19v. The maximum solar input I have been able to achieve is 45w in full sun and that being very briefly, stagnating to 40w or below. I contacted TP solar (Support@emperysolar.com) outlining what I found stating this is false advertising, only to get a nonresponsive message that they have updated their solar panel to the newest version, you can check it on Amazon. The output is 19V/14.4V/5V. A pretty poor response I thought. This particular 100w solar TP model advertisers the exact same output, I was now confused, more do now intrigued to find out the Amazon link to this updated version mentioned. I did get the link in their next response, that was about it no plesentries which I've added below, a couple of comments to make stillhowever; The updated unit still reading between the fine print notes TP-Solar, however they look to have rebranded themselves to Top Solar (Solar Fairy 100) The price to send this unit back to Amazon outweighs reasonable costs of return. I haven't decided as yet whether to look at their updated solar panel, to consious of not getting what is advertised again from this company. Anyhow, as mentioned Buyer Beware at the beginning of this feedback, hopefully writing this will save another person falling into the same trap as I did. https://www.amazon.com/TP-solar-Foldable-Portable-Generator-Smartphones/dp/B07ZZ8VY2V/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=TP-solar&qid=1613811900&sr=8-3 ... show more

  • worked great
I tried this on a cloudy day and was able to still charge an external cell phone battery. Note that it is water resistant/proof. A lot of these portable panels are not. Unfortunately the tip for my laptop was crush but the seller volunteered to give me a credit sufficient to buy a replacement package of tips rather than mail me a new tip which was fine. I decided to exchange this for their smaller size (60w) and less power but I'd totally recommend this for something like an RV portable panel as it's pretty light. With this unit I felt you would almost have to buy a battery controller as well to make full use of it which was more than I wanted to do. Obviously if you are plugging it into the side of the an RV that's not an issue. ... show more

  • 50 Watts Max
The maximum I could get this panel to output was 45 watts. I tried again today although there was a very slight cloud cover and 35 watts was the max i could get. Using the same set up I with a Rockpals 100watt Foldable Solar Panel and got a max of 60watts. Other than that, 5 stars for the construction, included accessories and case. ... show more

  • Nice panel
I tried it today (dead of winter in Toledo, OH, USA) at a little after 4 pm with the sun behind light clouds and got 10 watts at most out of it when properly angled. This is kind of what I expected for this kind of day. As far as the features and build, it seems OK overall. I like the rigid back on it and it folds-up nice and thin. I wish they made the carry case they supply just a little bit wider so it would fit in easier, but it does fit if you fiddle with it a bit. The other thing I wish they would change is to have the K adapter (the one that is an "8mm" output that fists my Goal Zero Yeti) modified to have a thinner plastic jacket at the top of the barrell where it connects to the cable. The reason for the request is that the 8mm extension cables expect it to be thinner so it doesn't fit into the female 8mm plug on the extension as far as I would like. It will probably work, but I'd just like something a bit more secure. I believe the issue is that the pack of adapters they supply is a general purpose one and the 8mm plug these "solar generators" use is not quite standard. UPDATE (Feb 14 2021): My son and I tried it again today without cloud cover and were able to get up to 60 watts out of it into my Yeti 500x by angling it toward the sun. Edit July 6, 2021: It looks like Amazon is linking my previous review above to a much newer product that looks very much like a Jackery clone. The newer one looks like it is improved compared to the one I bought, but since they are different products, I don't think my previous review applies any more. ... show more

  • Fast charging!!!
I purchased this to solar charge my cell phones, flashlight devices, and a portable power station in the event of a power outage or when I go camping. When directly connected to my Galaxy S10e, it goes into fast charging in direct sunlight. I connected it in the evening, so sun wasn't at full power and it still worked great. My only complaint is that there is no built in stand to keep panels at 45° angel for optimum solar charge. My images show I have to either lean against a tree or use my power station and a small log to keep angled. I have a summer project to create a simple stand out of PVC pipes. Hopefully I'll update those images soon. I have mixed feelings on the carry/storage bag. It's thin and compact like the solar panels, but it lacks storage for all of the cords and adapters it comes with. Great for storage and packing, not great for keeping everything together. Doesn't affect the quality of the panels though. Overall, it works great and at 120 watts, it'll do a great job for what I need it for. ... show more

  • Above Average Value
I like the build quality of the panel. It performs as expected. It's one of the few portable foldable panels that is advertised as being waterproof - I would trust that in a light quickly passing drizzle. The many plug in adapters are a plus. The only improvment I could suggest is that wiring size on the MC4 adapter is undersized. Overall, my impression is that the product is above average quality for the price. ... show more
