I have been disappointed with products like this in the past. The last magnetic charging cables I bought had to be returned because they got damaged. The magnets grabbed little magnetic pieces and short out the end of the cable. These cables have a recessed center pin which mostly eliminates that possibility. You still have to make sure the ends don't dangle on the floor, due to picking up strange material, but otherwise these cables really work. I am getting ready to order more. The only downfall I can think of is that they are a bit expensive. They have a cloth-covered wire that seems durable. Keep in mind that these don't transfer data. They are power only. EDIT: After playing with them for a while, I realized one flaw. They won't fast charge. Fast charging is a new feature in some chargers and devices to negotiate a higher voltage than the standard 5 volts to charge much faster. I bought a volt/amp meter for usb and found out that these magnetic cables don't allow fast charging. A regular cable does. This is most likely because it is only two wires and fast charging needs the data wires to negotiate with the device. So 2 wire cables prevent negotiation and the charger only charges at 5 volts. Other than that, they are durable. I have several sets now and none have failed yet.

Cons: The cable sometimes stop working entirely The little adaptor for the phone sometimes stops working entirely Would be nice if you had the option to buy the so all are the same instead of different sizes and the charging thing on the cable is faced the same (Hard to describe but one version its like just a strait like and the other it has it on its side kinda which I prefer) Pros Fairly cheap Has adapters for all sorts of ports. Has a TON of adapters so if those stop working you have a ton more you can swap out. Is amazing. Honestly I bought a set for my car, my battery charger and my home so I can have the wires in each and not have to disconnect the wire from place to place. Since Im rarely unplugging the adapter from the phone itself I dont have to worry about ruining the phones port from constant plugging/unplugging. And if I want to take the phone with me I can super easily just grab my phone not worry about the wire at all as it comes undone easily. Is honestly kind of fun just letting the magnetic parts connect. Has a little light so you can verify the wire has power and makes it easy to see at night/in the dark as well. Honestly I got multiple sets of these. I love em and highly recommend em.

*UPDATE* **Upon seeing my review, I was contacted via email by customer service. I was unaware that this charger isn’t a lightning cable. It’s comparable to the standard iPhone charger. To help me understand this better, TOPK sent me their Gen2 cable (this one is a Gen1) to try and it’s exactly what I was looking for in a charger. I will be purchasing that particular pack. With a better understanding of the kind of charger I purchased, I can say that my disappointment in the speed of the charging process for this particular cable is due to my own lack of knowledge as to what I was getting. As stated before, the convenience of this charger alone makes it worth purchasing. The concept itself is genius. If you’re used to lightning cables like I am, the Gen 2 is what you’re looking for but if you are fine with the standard charger cable, this charger surpasses that because of its magnetic detachment. All of that being said, I will change my review from 3 stars to 4. TOPK ᴅɪᴅ NOT ᴀsᴋ ᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ ᴍʏ ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ OR ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ ᴍʏ ᴏʀɪɢɪɴᴀʟ ʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ.** I like the charger for its convenience and for its glowing effect to let you know it’s working. The concept is genius. With that being said, they charge painfully slow. I wanted so badly to give this set of chargers more stars but for the length of time it has taken to charge my phone, I’m simply unimpressed. At the end of the day, the goal is to charge the device. It shouldn’t take two hours to get a phone from 45% to 88%. My old gas station charger would take my phone from 20% to 100% in just over an hour and it cost $5. If these charged a device faster they would be perfect.

These work reasonably well, but they certainly would never allow you to pick up the phone by the cord. The magnets are simply not that strong. Also, if you were planning to use this for your iPhone, or iPad, be aware that the lightning connectors included with these cables ARE NOT DOUBLE SIDED. I found out only by trial and error that the plug and only work when inserted on one side or the other. The point of these cables is that you do leave a tip in the device. But once or twice, I have removed them from a device and then noticed that they didn’t work anymore. The cable was still powered, the light was on, but the device didn’t charge. If you look at the Tips carefully, you will notice that there are contacts only on one surface of the plug. Regular lightning cables can be inserted without worrying about which side is up.
