I live in an apartment with no washer/dryer. So, I needed a laundry bag to withstand me transporting it to/from the laundromat and one that held a significant amount of clothes without ripping (like my others). Well, this is it. I jam about 40lbs of laundry in it before I head to the laundromat and carry it no problem. The top closes nicely so nothing falls out and with the heavy duty strap on it carries like a duffle bag. I ordered two of these bags, I have to say this is a big bag. I have not used it yet, I bought it to take stuff home from overseas waiting to use the bag. Good material and looks very well made so far I will update once I use it to haul all my stuff home in both bags. I got this to stuff a Teton Mamouth Queen size 0 degree sleeping bag in it. It works great. The compression bag the sleeping bag comes with is just too small to stuff in the bag without major effort. This bag is thick, sturdy canvas and heavy duty grommets for the closure. There is a "flap" there to cover the open end when closing. The bad had a vinigar odor when I received it, so I hung it outside to air inside-out for a day and night. Seems fine now. ... show more

    • Could not handle an international trip (where my military issue bags could)

I bought 3 of these bags for an international trip to Ecuador. when i arrived at Ecuador, one bag had the metal hook that comes from the strap to secure the top of the bag broken, and another bag had some thread from the bottom sticking out (kind of coming off). On my trip back to USA, another bag had the metal hook that comes from the strap that connects to the top to secure it, broken. In my opinion this bags are not that strong (definitely NOT military quality;) but i think it could still handle a few more trips, although i won't be able to use the shoulder strap due to the hook being broken. As a former Marine i have 2 military seabags that i was issue in the military. After 2 tours to Iraq and plenty of international trips they look as good as new. The reason why i bought 3 more is because more people were traveling with me, and i was thinking they were as good as mine. i would not recommend these bags for international trips; maybe, for a family trip in car they would be nice. ... show more

I bought one primarily as a bag to carry my laundry to the laundromat. I purchased the large one and it was much bigger than I thought. I don't have enough dirty clothes to fit it! The build is nice, seems like some kind of denim or polyester. If you've never used one of these bags before, figuring out how to close it might take a few minutes (Spiked tab is the bottom tab and layer all the other tabs on top. Then clip the shoulder strap into the spike and haul away). I didn't give it 5 stars because it the bag kind of smells initially. This Giant bag is just PERFECT!!!! I always saw the military guys traveling with them but never understood the use of it....now I do. I traveled to Puerto Rico with carry-ons with our clothes, but everything else I needed to take I took it in this huge bag. A keurig coffee maker, two band new bed sets and some other toys and kitchen items....everything in that bag weighted 48 pounds (not even 50lbs) and I only pay $25 to check it in at the airport. I use the largest bag to transport a large sized backpack, an Arcteryx 85L (loaded) backpack on airline flights to protect the Arcteryx 85 from baggage handlers and bagge moving equipment. Then at baggage pick up I realized that the hook end was pulling through the grommet holes, which means the bag could open up while in transit dumping out your items. Very happy with the seller, very responsive, fast shipping, received my bag 5 days after ordering it, I was expecting it way later than this, according to estimated shipping date, this bag is really huge. i wanted it to fit a stroller and a carry-on with its base which I wasn't expecting to fit in any bags.
