Here in Florida sometimes you have to work in the hot sun. This hat is large enough that it allows me to wear a sweat band underneath while providing neck protection from sunburn. An added plus is that I can wear my hearing protectors comfortably when needed.

For guys with big heads (both former Padres and Giants baseball manager Bruce Bochy and I have size 8 1/4 heads) Top Ex makes some decent size hats that fit. I'm walking an hour or so in the sun each day and the neck flap keeps me from going full redneck. Good quality, good price, and does the job.

I loved this hat as soon as I put it on. It fits great (I have a large head and it fits comfortably). It is very functional I. That it covers my ears and neck while working in the brush and sun. The only problem? It is made of polyester and does not have any ventilation holes in the cap which means it gets incredibly hot while working. It seems to encourage perspiration. If it had better ventilation, I would give it 6 stars! ... show more

    • Nice cap but do not like how flap is stored

This is a well-made cap. I returned it only because I did not like how the flap folds up into the crown of cap. For many years I wore a similar cap made by a west coast outdoors company (sadly they discontinued it). In that cap, the flap was rolled up into the outer headband and held in place by three small velco stops. You didn’t even feel the flap until needed in hot sun. With this one, the flap rests up inside crown on top of head. It can affect how the fit feels…and also could possibly start to creep back out if not carefully tucked away. I have searched and searched for caps with a proper way to store away the flap with no luck. This cap is not the answer. ... show more
