I'm going to call this tool the "wrist breaker" Not that it actually happened, but just the shear potential that it could easily happen. This machine is very powerful. From my research it is the most powerful one man digger on the market. Digging holes is a breeze until you hit clay or a rock or a tree root...etc. At which time this thing will flat knock you on your ass. What I ended up doing us driving a steel breaker bar into the ground and slide it through one side if the handle to hold it in place. I could then run it full throttle and if it did catch on something then the bar held it, which eliminated the chance of being injured. Overall this works great. I have the 6" and 10" augers and one other thing I would caution you on is don't bury them, if you do grab a shovel and start digging it out. I actually made a tool where I could twist it out backwards. It would be nice if there was a reverse then it wouldn't be an issue. ... show more

Size: 8", 12" Earth Augers
We bought this to plant about 200 plants on a commercial property makeover and wow did it save some time. Its very, very powerful and if you're not paying attention it will hurt! We dug through all kinds of junk left from the contractor, everything from gravel to ash fault and it brought it all out (that's where you need to be careful). It went right through the mostly clay soil very well. I bet this saved us a days worth of work! ... show more

It did a great job. Very powerful and if you hit a root hang on because it will throw you on your ass. Wear a glove on your right hand because if it grabs a root and torques up the right hand grip with the on off switch and throttle cable running through it is two halves and it opened up enough to pinch and catch the skin on my little finger in between the two halves. I had to use a screw driver and an Allen wrench to loosen the screws to get the pinched skin out. I drilled about a hundred post holes with it and am extremely pleased with this unit. ... show more

Size: 4", 8", 12" Earth Augers
As far as the auger head, the unit would not start no matter what. I contacted Tool Tuff (Jon) and we determined that the dynamo wasn’t firing any spark. Jon sent out a replacement right away and it works like a champ! The 4” auger chewed through rock and gravel, I ain’t stoopid - I would pause to scoop it out from time to time so I wouldn’t bind the bit. However, once I got below the gravel ag, it blew through the remaining 6” of TN clay pronto. I give the machine 4 stars for the initial foopah but Tool Tuff gets 5+!! ... show more

Broke on first use after two holes of 6" diameter by 18" deep. Piece of junk! Contacted seller but no response. I have no choice but to leave a review.
