These turned unstable and “sprung” chairs back into original equipment shape. Some folks said they had to use 2 plates per side but I found 1’did the job. Do use rubber gloves, mask and glasses to drill the new holes. The fiberglass “dust” that gets shed is nasty and get stuck in your skin etc.

Hate to nitpick: These pieces are obviously cut from larger stock, which is OK, but the ends on the pieces I received were not squarely cut, i.e., the ends were slightly crooked. They worked for intended purpose, but lack of workmanship somewhat disappointing. Also: be sure to wear gloves when drilling to avoid fiberglass splinters in your hands. ... show more

My Winston swivel rockers had both started to rock WAY TOO MUCH. It felt like I was going to fall backwards all the time. Winston no longer support these chairs but I found these and gave them a shot. For $25 I thought it would be worth trying to save my chairs, which (apart from this issue) are still in great shape. Four pieces is enough to fix two chairs. This took me about 20 minutes, after watching a YouTube video demonstrating the repair perfectly. Well I couldn’t be happier. My chairs are back to how they were when new and I’m back to a full set of six. I’m so glad I didn’t just throw them away. This was well worth the effort. These pieces are about half an inch bigger than mine but that was no problem at all. You can’t see them at all and it makes no difference to the function whatsoever. Very happy! ... show more

Ordered a different brand before checking the reviews and paid for it, the inferior brand broke the first time I sat down in the chairs. I noticed a huge difference in quality while drilling the holes. The inferior brand had drill shavings that came out like plastic worms. This product had drill shavings like dust similar to drilling into concrete. These spring plates are a much better and stiffer material than the inferior brand and was only a couple of dollars more. ... show more

Well, they did work. My originals were cracked, did not keep the chairs upright, and really squeaked. These replacements took care of those issues, but where the originals lasted over 10 years, these only lasted 2. I will replace them again, but I think I’ll try a different brand.
