Don't get the asus case. It provides no protection the sides of the case, and as i put my ally vertically in my bag, this is a big reason for me to search for another case. I had a skull and co previously but that case didn't have quite enough clearance for my analog stickgrips. which brings me to the pros and cons of this tomtoc case. Pros: very slim and form fitting. has enough clearance for my skull&co grip case and analog stick grips (also from skull&co) ykk zippers great protection nice padded handle cons: if the padded handle could be something like one of the skull&co switch cases that can convert to strap, that would be cool, only because it would give another option of carry As far as this case is concerned, its near perfect for the ally if ur looking to just protect the ally and carry accessories seperately, like in a backpack or something. Otherwise, you'd need to look elsewhere, or wait for tomtoc to release a deeper version that accomodates accessories, like some cases they make for the switch. All in all, this is the perfect case for me. I love this thing P.S. the material on the outside is like a rubbery/foamy marterial that feels very high quality. this is the case that asus should have designed for the ally. snug fit, soft interior, great hard shell and STRAP. overall great quality. pretty much everything the asus official case isn't. i dont need a dedicated all-in-one bag with room for chargers and all that as i usually have my ally in another bag like a tote or backpack. no more worrying about joysticks possibly getting pressed whilst in transport like with the asus case. this is a must buy for the ally if you need a slim case. ... show more

This one is not only a hardshell and allows nearly a half inch around the thumbsticks but also allows the Rog to have a silicone case on and still fit with plenty of clearance around the thumbsticks. The media could not be loaded. I saw this case on a RetroGameCorp. video on YouTube, and had to get it! My ROG Ally Z1 Extreme fits in this perfectly, even with a protector case on the Ally! I wish it was a touch bigger to fit the charger as well, but I still love it, and use it everyday!
