Measure twice and order once. Forget finding the sleeve based on your laptop being a 14" or a 15". Instead take measurements of your actual laptop and compare to the multiple sizes offered. I made this mistake on my first attempt at ordering this sleeve and ended up with one too big. That's not the fault of the seller -- it's because the bezels around my laptop are very small. So the overall size of my laptop is really around a typical 14" laptop instead of a 15.6" laptop (which is my screen size. I pulled up the size details on Dell's website and was able to find the perfect case from Tomtoc. Nice and snug, so well protected. The soft inner lining of the case is really nice too, as well as the zipper on the outside pouch -- perfect to storing cables and a charger securely.

I have only been using this for a couple weeks, but I just wanted to write a review because yesterday I put what I thought was an empty travel mug into my bag, only to discover when I got home that it was half full of coffee and that coffee had spilled everywhere in the bag. Lots of papers and stuff were ruined, but this case is practically spotless still (you can find a couple discolored spots if you look), and the laptop inside was completely unharmed, as were the wires and mouse in the front pouch. This case was a real lifesaver.

I most often carry my laptop in a knapsack in "protrait" orientation (i.e., standing on one of the short sides). The zipper on this case does not extend all the way along either of the short sides; i.e., you can't remove the laptop from the case except through one of the long sides of the case. This means that in order to remove the laptop from my knapsack, I must remove the case as well, instead of being able to leave the case in the knapsack and just sliding the laptop out through the upper, short end of the case. Since my knapsack is often packed to the gills, getting the laptop in and out of my knapsack is going to involve taking more stuff in and out of my knapsack and more of a struggle generally than I've had to deal with in the past. So although I really like this case otherwise, I think I'm going to look around to see if I can find something similar with zipper that extends all the way along one of the shorter ends of the case.
