  • 7 mph wind
This is the second umbrella I’ve bought the first one was in within the 30 day return so that it was swapped out . This one lasted 45 days (not consecutive in use) was hoping I just got a bad umbrella but obviously that’s not the case this can’t be a genuine Tommy Bahama umbrella because they can stand up to wind. I would say save your money. umbrella is light weight and goes in the sand pretty easy wont buy again. now I have to go back to shopping not happy ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS UMBRELLA
This umbrella broke after only 2 uses!!! It was a present for my husband who actually picked it out himself. He used it once with no issues. The second time he used it, the umbrella would not close. He cut 2 of his fingers just trying to close it. After 1/2 hour of attempting to figure out what the problem was and figuring out that the umbrella just simply would not close, he dumped it in the garbage at the beach . . . STILL IN THE OPEN POSITION! What a disappointment! ... show more

  • Good value, but not great in wind
Used these twice this summer at two different NC beaches. Pros: Lightweight Won't rust Decent quality Strong sand anchor (never pulled out!) Height adjustable Nice fabric case Good sun protection Reasonble price Cons: Wabbles in the wind, then starts to lean, then gets tipped inside out by the wind. Lowering the umbrella height helped some. Handles used to screw in the anchor are a bit weak and could break over time Looking at other more stable umbrellas on the beach, they are typically 6 panels with thick ribs and pole made either of wood or fiberglass. They look more like patio umbrellas--they would be more expensive and heavier. ... show more

  • Not worth it
A mildly breezy day, think less than 20mph, and the top portion immediately ripped out of the bottom. Had this umbrella before and it had a much sturdier locking system, but this new version has a plastic clamp that I feared was too flimsy and was quickly proven right. Plastic clamp was destroyed and the shaft bent so we never even got to use it’s shade. If anyone already bought this, I suggest drilling a hole or two through the umbrella poles and inserting a nut bolt with a nut to hold them together, because then it should be fine. Anyone thinking of buying it, don’t ... show more

  • Tommy Bahama Beach Umbrella
Let me just start off by saying that this umbrella is great. The base of the umbrella has a plastic corkscrew style base for easy anchoring into the dirt along with collapsible and sturdy plastic handles to easily screw it into the sand. This umbrella survived multiple windy days on the beach, while others next to us were quick to be flipped inside out. It was easy to transport and is also lightweight but, not to be confused with cheap. I would highly recommend! ... show more
