I am not an impulse buyer. So before I spend $$$ on a parfum, I did some extensive research. First, I knew I wanted to have a Tom Ford because of his reputation in making parfum. Then I narrowed down the choices to the 5 most preferred private blends by online reviewers. Then I bought .5ml sample for each. After trying them one by one, my husband made the choice for me-- Noir de Noir. Noir de Noir has a complex, sweet, lovely scent. It has depth. Not overwhelmingly floral, not overpowering, and not sharp/edgy. I seldom find parfum nice to smell on the skin. However, with this parfum, I want to stick my nose to my wrist wearing the parfum all the time. It is addictive. The only complaint I have about it is that I need to have 6 sprays to get the fragrance noticeable by people at a comfortable distance. And I need to spray once more during the day. From my research and trial, I find that parfum is very personal, and you have to try it in person. It is better to try it at home and wear it for once or twice before you buy it at a store. The 5 scents I tried: - Noir de Noir - Vanilla Tobacco: This one is absolutely sweet and nice, but lacks a bit complexity compared to Noir de Noir. It is a bit straight forward Vanilla and tobacco. - Amber Absolute: Initially, I couldn't stand it, then I am totally in love with it. It is very unusual. It has a very unique dried herb fragrance and very complex. It reminds me of the fragrance in the air in Big Sur, CA or Mono Lake, CA when the flowers and plants are drying in fall. This is my favorite. It is stronger than Noir de Noir. - Tuscan leather: couldn't stand it, very leathery. - Neroli Portofino: didn't like it at all. Just like some reviewers said, it smells like Tide.

This is an extremely sweet scent. I bought it and now going to sell it. It smells good for about an hour then it just too sweet. I feel trapped like when you were young inside someone's minivan as they sprayed too much perfume on. They lady who sprays six times probably doesn't know how to use or bought a knock off. If you want your smells to last long maybe you should moisturize so you skin doesn't soak up the smell too fast. This needs to mixed with another scent tone it down.

I've worn TF Noir de Noir in the past, and absolutely love its stunning scent. Purchased from Nordstrom/Sephora and other authorized retailers. While I confidentally shop for other lower-end beauty products on Amazon (Clinique moisturizers, Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue cologne) DO NOT buy this product in particular. Purchased the 1.7 FL oz size for cheaper than retail, box & packaging looked fine. However scent was CLEARLY weaker/not as potent. I noticed this immediately... as 3-4x sprays of the real Noir de Noir will have people down the block smelling it. Spray this 8-9x and I'm struggling to even smell it 30min-1hr later. Also noticed the gold "Noir de Noir" plate on the bottle isn't straight... Not sure if overanalyzing, but pretty sure I received a tampered with/inauthentic good. Considering the prestige of this product (Tom Ford's elite line) it would make sense that they had a tight grip on product diversion. Shell out the real bucks and just buy from an authorized retailer.
