I was nervous buying this given that it is quite popular/common, so fragrance snobs tend to criticize it as banal. It's a great scent, actually, one that is almost up there with YSL's La Nuit De L'Homme--at least for what I tend to like (bergamot, vanilla, and spice). The YSL is a more layered, complex fragrance, but the Dior has superior projection and longevity. SPRAY LIGHTLY, especially if you get the parfum version! It is very concentrated, and your nose will acclimate to it if you wear it regularly. One spray to the neck of the parfum is enough, especially in warm weather. Dior's atomizers tend to spray quite generously, so don't treat this in the same way that you would another fragrance. One spray too many will easily drive everyone away. Less is more. ... show more

I got hooked on this product, SAUVAGE around 2015 when they first came out with it advertising Johnny Depp perfume. It was wonderful. As an old man I used to always get compliments. I probably bought eight or nine bottles since then trying to get the same thing and it always smell different, not nearly as good. Today I received $150 bottle 3.4 ounce and it smelled like a bit of gasoline. Started researching Google on it and discovered they reformulated it several years ago. I wasted a lot of money over the last seven years on this product thinking I just had a bad one when I would get another one that wasn’t like the first two or three from years back. I’m through with anything Dior or SAUVAGE. I say, if they reformulate something that makes it no longer want it used to be, and they should have to change the damn name of it. Folks, I am 57 years old.. I like to smell good at all times! LOL. Hey, from an old skit on SNL.. "It is more important to SMELL good than to FEEL good"..LOL And I have tried MANY MANY different colognes and sprays and whatever over the years.. I still wear Perry Ellis and Fahrenheit and Obsession and even Dylan Blue by Versace - all GREAT colognes... But I must confess that Sauvage by Dior is simply 'One for the Ages' as far as colognes for men!! I cannot explain it.. I cannot speak as to what 'fragrant ingredients' make it so.. All I can tell you is that this cologne is incredible beyond words.. I have a co-worker who wears Sauvage and says exactly the same thing!!! LOL.. Is Sauvage expensive? YES IT IS!! PAINFULLY EXPENSIVE!!! LOL.. I can get about TWENTY 5oz bottles of BRUT spray cologne for the pice of ONE 3.4 oz bottle of Sauvage.. By the way - NOTHING WRONG WITH BRUT COLOGNE!!! LOL.. I use it myself - a LOT! And it is great stuff!! But sometimes a man wants to just not smell good.. Sometimes a man wants to smell better than any other man on the planet.. Like Johnny Depp! LOL.. And it those times, especially on weekends when I have a chance to spend time with my beloved wife, that I reach for the bottle of Sauvage as I get dressed after a shower!! LOL. ... show more
