Computer experts are no nerds, they rule the world today. Digital and technology skills have become basic competences in all sectors of business, communication, and social interaction. If you are aware of this, you should read this book. It is the most complete and most progressed account about what blockchain technology really is and why it matters to us all. This interdisciplinary approach tackles the very complex technology of blockchain with admirable ease, without ever drifting into simplification: from the technology basis to money theory, and governance. It is very impressive to see where blockchain takes ist place in the development oft he internet. I recommend it as teaching material in economy as well as marketing and – obviously – computer science. At the same time the technology is only the basis, the biggest impact - for me as a reader – were the detailed ideas to implement tokens beyond the financial sector as governance tools as well as society self-organisation. There is an entire section dedicated to promising use cases that are already live and running today. Blockchain and its economical effects are still an expert topic today, but they must not be for much longer. „Token Economy“ is a must-read for everyone to know what is coming in terms of business transformation and chances to realize data privacy rights and decentralized systems. The print book is very good quality and of tasteful design with lots of appealing and instructive illustrations.

Essential Text in the blockchain and tokenization space

For anyone in the blockchain, web3, and/or tokenization space, this is absolutely essential reading. Voshmgir has an unmatched skill in consolidating huge, complex topics into easily digestible sentences. The use of inforgraphics throughout the text are much appreciated. I recommend this book on a weekly basis as it is great for beginners, marketers, educators, and enthusiasts alike in communicating the potential of this revolutionary technology. This needs to be in your resource library!

The First Book you Need to Learn how to Develop Your own Token
Format: Paperback
The aim of this book is to assist those considering developing their own tokens. Though it covers the basics of blockchain technology and the intricacies of cryptocurrencies, if you are seeking a fundamental understanding of these I'd recommend reading some basic material first. That said, the Token Economy does a fantastic job providing a broad overview of the entire scope of these technologies while offering an extensive guide on token development. If you plan to create your own blockchain you will need something more substantial, but if you intend to develop a token cryptocurrency this book will be well worth your time.

Great introduction to the economy of electronic tokens and a fascinating vision of Web 3.0
Shermin Voshmgir has a gift for explaining the complex technology of block chains, tokens, and virtual currencies in a clear and straightforward way, especially for readers that are interested in the application of the technology but don’t have the technical background to keep up with latest developments. The book provides a pathbreaking contribution to understand the intersection of cryptology, technology, and economics; an important subject that deserves further attention. Voshmgir also paints an interesting picture of the new internet, with possibilities for greater control over the use of personal information, which could have major implications for employment and the role of governments. An enjoyable read that stimulates further thinking.

Comprehensive and Digestible
I was unfamiliar with Dr. Voshmgir before stumbling across this book whilst researching governance and incentives for tokens. The way that Dr. Voshmgir articulates this industry caters to readers that have little knowledge of the underlying concepts to readers who perhaps are more aware of them. This technology has many aspects and Dr. Voshmgir keeps the scope of the book tight and this makes for a terrific read. Having said that, she does provide resources where one can find additional information, should they choose. Interesting technology, outstanding concepts all boiled down into an enjoyable reading experience.

Great Book to Start Your Crypto Journey
Format: Paperback
This book is a great resource. Each chapter includes extensive additional readings and resources; I've looked into many of them already. If you need an overview of tokens and the issues around engineering tokenized systems, this book is a great place to start. I usually pass on my technical books. This one will stay on my shelf for years to come. You won't be disappointed.

A Must Read!

This is the most comprehensive text that I've found with respect to how blockchain/distributed ledger technology is a game changer to economies and will bring about a new wave of internet applications. Well researched, written starts with the basics and relates to real-world token networks and use cases. I've read the both the first and second editions and am looking forward to a 3rd to follow the developments of this amazing technology.

Insightful and Knowledgeable!
Just completed this book and it is incredible. Note that it is not the most well-written, as there are many grammatical errors I found, but the content is incredibly packed with valuable information, summaries and an abundance of additional references for delving into deeper specifics if desired after each chapter. Despite being nearly 300 pages long, it was not overwhelming even to someone who had not had much exposure to blockchain in the past. Highly recommend!
