I have read the pros and cons about starting kids off on a balance bike versus a bike with training wheels and I wanted to try the balance bike because it seemed to be just the perfect bike for my toddler. He didn’t know what it was at first (because he has never seen a bike before) but knew to get on it. He picked it up right away and tried to sit on the seat but he is just a few inches too short to have his feet flat on the floor and sit on the seat at the same time. I had to hold the bike steady while he sat on the seat. I think in the spring, when it’s warmer and he will be taller and it will be the perfect time to get him started on riding this. I can’t wait to get him on this bike in the spring. Until then, here are some more details about the bike: 1. Easy to put together. My husband had it together in about 20 minutes 2. Tires feel like foam so I don’t think they will go flat while waiting for the spring for him to ride 3. Seat feels comfortable 4. Bike is good quality and is very sturdy 5. Perfect size for toddlers and first bike. My child is in the 20th percentile for height so he’s shorter but most toddlers would have no problems with this. This is such a great bike. It is very easy to assemble, it took me about 15-20 minutes. The height is adjustable, we set the height for a 3 year old but it can go lower to get your toddler started learning to ride. She was a little wobbly at first, excited and scared at the same time, it was very cute. But, within the first hour of pushing along, got the hang of it without anyone walking along holding on. (PS safety first, we still have her in a helmet). Balance bikes are such a great way to help the little ones learn to ride a full pedal bike. A no-pedal bike will help get the first skill in riding, balance. This one has no top tube, which is great for better control while learning. Also, using their feet to push and stop helps to get the feel of riding. This is definitely a great value too. ... show more

We gave this balance bike to my little granddaughter and she just loves it. She just turned four and has always wanted to to be on things that “go” including ride-on toddler toys, scooters, etc, so this is just a natural introduction for her to learn how to ride a bike. It’s very well made and it took my handy DIL less than 20 minutes to put together. All the tools necessary were included and it looked pretty straightforward. My little granddaughter loves the bright pink color (of course) and I envision her enjoying this until she graduates to a conventional bicycle. Got to the end of assembly only for a hole to be out of alignment when trying to push the axle to the other end of the fork. Cannot complete the assembly and cannot return so this was a waste
