Overall, a very nice DRO. Once installed, it works great and is relatively easy to figure out. The two issues I had are: 1. It seems the screws and mounting plates were just randomly thrown in. I needed 4 of one type of screw but only received 3. Received 6 of another that I didn't even need. The mounting plates to secure the reader to the Y axis were poorly manufactured and needed to be modified to look correct. They would have worked as is, but I need it to look nice as well. 2. The ad states "US Stock, 2-4 Days Delivery". Reality is - Shipped from Hong Kong, 2 week delivery.... ... show more

I debated for months whether I should put a dro on my lathe or not and now I know I shouldn't have waited! I mounted this unit on my south bend 14 1/2" lathe and couldn't be happier. It took a bit of doing mounting the crosslide scale but patience and a little thought and it's done. Installation instructions are non existent but no big deal there. It’s a universal fit so you have to figure out how to attach this DRO to your machine. Having a DoAll mill, it had its challenges. Once it was set up and alignment checked with a dial invocatory to make it run true, works like a gem. No issues with the rail sticking or making the table harder to move. Really nice features on the DRO such a bolt hole patterns, radius, angles and a calculator button for quick calculations. ... show more
