It does work as advertised IF your usb-a can output at least 2.1 amps. I would look for a puck or port that is rated even higher if using outdoors in sub freezing temps. I have successfully used it for all night astrophotography sessions for a Rebel eos T6 and a puck rated for 2.1 amps. However, on one very cold night the power must have dropped below 2 amps and the camera stopped. Other than that is has performed perfectly for my use. In 2026 I would look for a usb-c version if your setup allows. It seems to work fine. The only issue is some usb ports don't give enough power for the camera to work off of I guess. I also thought it was supposed to come with a wall adapter but apparently not. It's weird though how using wall adapters for a phone, depending on the adapter it might not work while others do. Also plugging into laptop won't power the camera either. Using it with a canon rebel t7 and the red light will blink like it wants to come on but then doesn't. However plugging it into the charge adapter for my moto g power or cigarette lighter with usb does seem to work. Not what I would consider universal but it'll work for what I want to do. ... show more

I want to use my wife's Canon t6 for shooting videos. This continuous power supply makes it much easier to shoot video all day without worrying about your battery going dead! Plug this battery pack into the place your normal battery goes, plug the cable into the pack and the other end into a USB charger block and BOOM you're in business. FYI I tried to plug the USB end into my USB dock but it did not work. Not enough power. I switched to a power block and plugged it into the wall socket... worked perfectly!
