Regardless of what the instructions say, you must use Teflon (plumber's) tape if you do not want leaks. You also must use a wrench to tighten the bolt 1/2-1 turn past hand tight. If you properly installed the flowmeter, then the tank should not be leaking or emptying until the solenoid is plugged in and both the main valve to the tank and the smaller knob are turned to the left. The CO2 rushes fairly rapidly; keep the smaller knob no more than a turn until the flowmeter reads 2 (I don't know the units.) Get a CO2 detector!! Aim for 1400 ppm in your grow room. CO2 will enter your living areas, assuming your grow room is indoors. Turn your tank off by mid-evening or use a timer. Concentrations above 2000 ppm will be noticeable to your brain, and your plants won't like it either. Lethal CO2 potentially at 5000 ppm. Get a CO2 detector!! Unless your 20 lb. tank is near empty, you should no way need a flowmeter reading of more than 5, even if you are venting to outdoors. There are lots of plastic components. Only grab ahold of the brass parts, or you'll probably break something. ... show more

Says made in Washington state. Box says made in China. This is the 2nd co2 regulator that died on me in 48 hours ago, less than a year later. They make good lighting stuff, stay away from their co2 China made regulators and monitors.

    • This is something you can’t get cheap on.
After buying a cheap manetee regulator and returning it 3 times and wasteing 3 bottles of co2 I learned my lesson and bought the titan. It’s been 6 months and no issues and very easily adjusted unlike others.

Dont buy. Never worked from day one. From what I have researched Im definitely not the only one to have issues right out of the box. Could adjust flow rate with the wheel but the flow gauge with bead just sat at 0 no matter how high or low I turned the knob. Could see the changes on my controller so knew it was increasing/decreasing the co2 flow rate but couldnt determine what the flow rate was at since the gauge didnt work. You buy these things so you dont have to guess. So saw a review with someone who suggested the Vivo sun. He had the exact same issue with his titan and he was also a longtime titan customer. Let me tell you it has worked flawlessly since the day I hooked it up. Same product better quality half the price. Have bought tons of titan control products over the yrs from timers to controllers and never once had an issue. Unfortunately this was the first thing I have bought from them that let me down. Hope this isnt an indication on the direction this company is moving in. Just my 2 cents.....Get em ... show more

Just not happy with this product, I tried reaching out to Amazon to let them know but it looks like they might be recycling these to customers, I would consider buying a different brand or going into a growgen store where they will be able to replace it. Hawthorne products are just getting worst and worst. Paid over 90 bucks for this to only stop working within days, it looked used when I opened it!! thankful it’s within the return period and for my first one, I guess I just get to look at that one, will be going with another brand. Fail me once shame on me fail me twice, shame on you! ... show more

Box came open ...this item was opened and closed and used by another person......very un happy because I need to install......I hope it works.......the brass nut has wrench marks in it form someone using before.......I have to install tonight lets hope it works......

The electrical connection for the power cord to the solenoid is extremely frail and weak. It barely has any tension and explodes. Nice set up, only complaint is the fact that a 20lb bottle reads as being almost empty and the guage has horrible fluctuation with temps. Last fill up the guage read empty, but was still about a 1/4 full...dont trust the guage!! the float gauge works flawlessly.
