This was a gift and I was able to easily fit two standard size wine bottles inside. I don't know that it would hold champagne bottles as they might be too tall. I do wish that this color (the blue stripes) had a front pocket to store things in, but it is still very cute and nautical feeling, which is what I was going for. I do like the small elastic inside the top to hold a wine opener. Overall, I was happy with it and it made a very pleasing gift.
