Who knew that this block would take my food to the next level?! I have only used it as a cutting board so far. Love the flavor it adds to food. We have been using pink Himalayan salt for years but this is really lovely. If you are cutting veg, especially tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini this is amazing! We ordered this after realizing that the plastic cutting boards we have been using play a large part in our consuming meat with microplastics. It is easy to clean and makes food taste amazing. Don’t plan on salting anything that you cut on this. The heavy duty durable chrome stand makes it easy to move around an it is so pretty that it stays out on our counter. Only downside is that it doesn’t seem to come any bigger. But I quickly learned to work around that by transferring the cut veg to a bowl to make room for more chopping. Excellent value for the money and would make a great gift for housewarming or newlyweds!!

Gave this to my coworker for a secret Santa gift. Great choice for me because it was in my price range and a unique buy. The salt rock comes with an expiration date and can be used with hot or cold food. A good buy for a gift and for someone who likes to cook.

Creates flavorful dishes. Takes a while to get to cooking temperature. Also takes a while to cool down. Metal holster they provide is subpar, but holds up. This also can be messy. Although on the larger size of salt plates, liquid finds the path of least resistance that you probably don't see, which if not on the grill can create a small to large cleanup. You need to be a tad creative with this to reduce messes, and when you find it, this can be a game changer. Amateurs, stick to the grill with this. The more advanced can work wonders. I just want to put this out there. My wife went to rinse the previous one I had while still hot, and cracked the whole thing. Just like a hot pan, to reduce warping, let this cool down to avoid cracking.
