Look through the instruction manual first and decide if you want the shelf the left or right and follow the proper picture instructions. Nice desk for the money. I purchased the 47" long L shaped desk. Instructions were clear and understandable. Solid desk with no wobbles. It's not the best but not the worst desk. My son's 19.5 inch gaming tower would not fit so we had to sacrifice a shelf but that's fine and it's still stable due to the metal cross supports. The height of the desk is average and fits a gaming chair at the lowest seat height setting. The 40" size may not fit a large gaming chair just keep that in mind The look of the desk is nice and it came perfect with no flaws, chips or cracks. The desk was semi-easy to install. It can get confusing with all the holes since it can be built with the L shape on the left or right. Desk feels pretty sturdy I’d say but nothing special. I really like that there’s a plug directly on the table.
