fairly straight forward assembly, outcome is pretty nice. I like that they come with anchors for attaching them to the wall. I bought 2 two packs for my daughters new house. I didn't care for the little allen wrench/screw driver combo, I must have dropped it 30 times on the first 2 units. Before I did the second 2 units, I took a hacksaw to the little allen wrench and cut it off before the bend so I could stick it in my cordless drill. That worked a ton better. You just have to mind your drills torque settings and even still, be careful not to overdrive the screws. The instructions are all pictorial, but still easy enough to follow, just pay attention to orientation of part 3 (the middle shelf/ top of the bottom half), and parts 4 and 5, the sides with the twist to lock furniture connector holes. It comes with little brown stickers to cover over the exposed screw heads, but I didn't see any place in the instructions where it said to apply them. I would wait until you have the top and bottom unit secured together, just in case you need to loosen a screw to facilitate joining the two halves. There were a couple of times in the 2nd pair of units that I had to loosen screws just to get the back panel to fully seat in all of the grooves, not that big of deal, but never happened on the first 2 units. Overall, pretty happy with the outcome, they look decent and seem fairly sturdy. Definitely would want to anchor them to the wall though. ... show more

I absolutely love these bookshelves. I ordered the rustic wood look and they look fantastic! The instructions are clear and easy to read and assembly was easy and quick to put together. The shelves are roughly 6’3-4 tall. The shelves are not adjustable and screw in making these bookshelves very sturdy. The backing is NOT that cheap thin backing you find on so many peaces of furniture these days. The backing comes in separate thicker pieces you slide in. The wood seems to be made a bit better than other bookshelves you’d buy from department stores. It does come with a lot of screws and some nice tools to help put it together. While it does come with brackets to mount to the wall so they won’t tip over I do wish the bookshelves had a larger base at the bottom. ... show more

Very sturdy, and heavy!! Worth every single penny! It took my brother in law maybe 45 mins total to put together! I will definitely buy again (and may have to since my library keeps expanding!). Mine are anchored to the wall and I don’t plan on moving them around. They lined up together perfectly. They are tall. I’m 5’7” and they are definitely taller than me. I got the white version and it looks more like ghost white than the glossy white most would love. However, would love it if it came along with a screw that makes me join the two shelves together. These were pretty easy to put together. First, I actually had to contact customer service because when putting one set together, there were pieces where the holes clearly would not align...as in the holes were not drilled appropriately apart or whatever so I couldn't complete the set up. The company was very nice and patient and after sending proof the pieces indeed were not drilled right for me to put together, they offered to resend me another set at no cost. I was amazed at how quick and easy(and how nice they were about it)everything went. New set came, and had zero issues setting them up. When you buy things to put together, mistakes can happen with the company that makes it which is why I wasnt upset. If they decided to get prickly, then this review would be quite different. Excellent A+++ Seller!! Not only are these shelves sturdy and well made, they are packaged extremely well. I bought 6 shelves in total and even with the mail service being harsh with them, the thick foam protected them perfectly (be prepared to have a second person on hand to help carry the "heavy" boxes inside :) ). Assembly (like most things) did take some time but everything was clearly marked and numbered and the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The seller was helpful, and quick to answer questions etc. I'm impressed with the quality, service/help, and obvious care they put into protecting their shelves.
