I purchased numbing cream and covered my lips with plastic for 30 minutes, then wiped the cream off and started my outline. I'm very very picky about my tattoo inks - but especially perm makeup inks. While they break down within 3-5 years, you are still stuck with the color applied! - it's important to have a good brand that heals well and with a beautiful color. I would argue that this brand is my favorite brand for lips so far. The color is very pretty (I ordered dusty rose - it is very close to a pink nude but a bit darker). Anyways - your machine can make or break the quality of an ink; use a REAL hand held tattoo machine with a makeup needle/cartridge. 1 needle cartridges are best on lips - the less pressure the better (for example, 3 or 5 needles might seem like you'd get better coverage or that it'd be easier - noooo! - the lips are delicate: 3-5 needles means it takes MORE pressure to properly insert the color into the lips - so don't do that; the ink won't stay and you can scar and damage the tissue). Ignore the scar above my top lip- and the fact that they are swollen, as this was right after I was finished-- anyway, I do my own PMU and I love this for my lips. It retains well and it's a beautiful color. It is pretty true to shade as it claims. It does lighten a lot but I'm super happy with the results. Edited: I added my healed lips as well. I ended up not needing this when I purchased originally. Which makes this product out of my return window. When I opened the plastic cap seal today I realized that the ink was completely solid and there was no white seal under the cap. I think for $30ish a bottle this shouldn’t be something that occurs. It’s also very unhygienic. Definitely cannot use this now. I’ll be checking my pigments before opening the plastic seal next time. ... show more

I used this color in multiple people and would have to go over multiple times just to get a hint of color. Ordered a different brand for their touch ups and all of the color stayed after healing. Not sure if this is the real brand
