In my experience, and I have owned multiple of these (one for each pencil version) two things could make this better would be: a darker pink and the ability to charge my Apple Pencil 2 without taking it out. Otherwise, it does what it says it will do - most importantly, it protect the tip of my pencil. It is easy to remove and insert the pencil. It looks like a pencil, which is cute. It retracts and clicks just like a pen. It keeps my pencil safe. I am not even annoyed about removing it to charge my pencil. It’s that good. ... show more

I really enjoyed this when I first got it. Removing the pencil to charge it was not too much of an inconvenience and I felt great about protecting my investment. HOWEVER, I was using this at work, and pressed down on the cap to use the pencil, and the inner/white part of the assembly and pencil(!) went FLYING behind me very forcefully, so much so that two people in front of me could hear it over the noise of some machinery - it hit the wall that hard. Thank goodness no one was behind me to get it in the eye. I really feel like had it hit anyone it would have really hurt, based on the sound it made when it hit a wall 6 feet behind me. I don’t know if this unit was defective or not, but I would not recommend anyone to order one unless they can guarantee safety. ... show more

I have an Apple Pencil gen 2. Slid the case on, got the top screwed on, and started drawing. I'm not a pressure nut or anything- I mean, I don't press hard when I write or draw. Within about... twenty or thirty minutes? The little internal plastic 'claw' that holds the pencil in place was a bit dodgy. Started letting the front end of the pencil wiggle just a tiny bit. Probably wouldn't bother someone just writing notes or something, but if you're an illustrator or digital artist on your iPad? I'd skip it. While we're on the topic of holding the sleeve- it's made of that really, really hard, glossy-finished plastic. What that means is that there is 0 grip and 0 comfort. Yeah it's cheap, but a matte finish could at least help with grip, you know? ... show more

So, with this product it "feels" good to use for the most part. Then comes the issues. You can't charge with it in the case, which is a huge annoying negative. Getting it out for charging is also kind of annoying because of how snug the pencil fits inside you have to poke it out or struggle bus trying to pry it out. Then comes how hard of a kick the retract has, where you can tell when this breaks (not if) it's going to rocket the pencil or at least the cap out and hit something pretty hard and possibly break your pencil. I very much wouldn't trust this product, even if the grip feels kinda nice ... show more
