  • Great buy, you can't dislike this watch. Great buy, you can't dislike this watch.
Color: Tan/Gray/Gunmetal
Note: If it doesn't work initially out of the box put it on a window sill for 10-15 minutes and it should begin to tick. Expensive watches are great and so is this watch. The funny part about Timex watches is that I never hesitate to buy one I like because they just never die. Although I tend to by some more pricey stuff these days my first watch was a Timex I got for Christmas in second grade, it still works, that was 30 years ago and it went through the ringer. None of my Timex's have ever stopped (excluding batteries obv). I bought a Nato strap for this because I assumed for $50ish bucks the leather one would be sub-par. Not so, it was nice and I'll use it again at some point, comfortable out of the box too. A small downside is you will need a strap tool to remove it. Solar powered, that speaks for itself which is awesome at the price point. The styling is honestly one of the nicest looking field watches I've seen. Basic, legible, functional, exactly what a field watch should be. I'm not a stickler for incredible lume on a watch but for the price point I couldn't believe it. If you walk outside, even with clouds and charges up and you can see it just walking inside, it lasts for hours. It's the best I have on any watch which is both impressive and frustrating at one since some of them are 10-15 times the price. I've been wearing it 75% of the time since I got it 3 weeks ago, gotten multiple complements. I got the Annefit strap on Amazon, it's great but I have a 7.5 inch wrist and still have extra slack that stick out so trim it or something or it will look foolish. ... show more

  • Keeps great time and very very easy to read
Color: Tan/Natural/Gray
I bought this watch as I work in a very busy unit that monitors multiple screens of patients EKG and respiratory status. We record our calls and the time of them to alert staff to changes and potentially dangerous findings. Its vital to have a watch that keeps good time and even more vital to have a watch that's extremely easy to read in ALL lighting conditions. This one does both, at a price that was surprisingly good. Pressing the crown lights the dial and is very easy to see in dim light. HIghly rated for its visibility alone. This is NOT a solar watch, it has a replaceable battery. But I gladly make that trade for the wonderful visibility that requires just the quickest glance to tell the time. Additionally the watch seems to be well made, it's heavier than the typical digital watch. The leather band also seems thick and sturdy. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this watch and feel it was great value for the price. At the time I registered my watch on the Timex website they even included a lifetime warranty. Granted that's not a massive issue with a relatively economical watch, but it does speak to the confidence the company has in their product. As noted the watch does have some weight to it. And it probably is not the best watch for someone who wants a small watch. Neither of those factors were important to me. I've gotten compliments on this watch and it is good looking imho. ... show more

  • Great watch, probably repackaged. (3rd party packaging)
Color: Green/Black/Gray
Ordered this watch as my first watch since I was a kid, wanted something that looked good but wasn't flashy. Overall the watch is great, comfortable, looks good, and does its job of telling time. My only reason for not giving this watch a 5 star review is because when I went to order the watch it was labeled as a prime item, while it was in my cart for around 30-40 minutes while I was doing other shopping it magically left prime status and was being shipped via 3rd party. I didn't think much of it because it was still free shipping, however it was now 4-7 days shipping. No more than an hour after I placed the order the watch went back to prime status. Seems a little fishy to me but anyways I received the watch just as the description stated but in an odd way. The watch came in a Timex box (that wasn't taped shut), however inside the Timex box was a joke. The watch was on the plastic "wrist" ring but the ring was not connected to the base used to showcase a watch, it was tossed in awkwardly. The watch was already ticking, not sure how long it has been running for but I probably should replace the battery to be safe. With that the labeling on the base was in French none of the labeling was in English, the directions and information documentation were all in French. Luckily there were no scratches or signs of wear on the watch otherwise I would have returned it because it looked repackaged. Outside of the packaging issues the watch is great, easy to set the time/date. The nylon band stretches slightly as you break it in. I was between two holes where the wider one was just a little too loose and the tighter hole was just a little snug. I toughed it out on the tighter hole for a few days and it slowly stretched slightly and fits wonderfully now. I have noticed when setting the hands the minute hand tends to click into its slot just slightly slow of where it should be. It tends to lag a little behind the minute marks as it moves. Even when attempting to set it properly. It hasn't run slow at all for the week I have had it or shown any issues of being off. The ticking is noticeable if you are in a dead quite room, place your ear right next to it or if you leave it on your night stand and sleep in dead silence like a heathen. I sleep with a low fan on and cant hear it at all, I had to turn off everything and put it next to my ear to hear it tick. Unless you live in absolute silence or have super hearing you most likely wont notice the ticking. Update on this watch (12/5/16) The crown is completely unprotected so it will catch on things. Mine caught on my pants and snapped off completely with the stem still inside. This happened within the first 2 months of owning the watch. I had to send it to Timex repair to have it repaired. They repaired it and had it sent back in about 3 weeks time. The repair was covered free of charge but they billed me for shipping the watch back to me, after I paid to ship it to them. I think this is a little upsetting for a watch that didn't last more than 60 days before it broke. Shipping in total cost me half what the watch did in the first place. I will just buy a different watch next time. I have read a few more reviews after buying the watch that state the crown snapped off or fell out on many of these watches. ... show more

  • Timex Standard High Quality....but, Oh well. The new one I bought, the Indiglo went out in 60 days.
Color: Brown/Black/Black
The Quality was exactly the standard that timex set for the most affordable, most durable, most useful, most attractive watches in the industry. I've owned this one since 2022. I have to say it's all of the above WITH ONE EXCEPTION: The Indiglo never worked from the moment I took it out of the box. I didn't think anything of it. I thought it was another diluted standard brought on by the corporate enshitification so pominent in the world today. I WAS WRONG! For under 35$, who cares? It's 2025 and I'm buying another one. I put this thing through hell. I work on Industrial Refrigeration and Mechanical Infrastructure. I'm rough on everything I own and my hands and arms are exposed to 130 degree F Condesner relief temps regularly, 170 degree F Asphalt Equipment Pads (on which I stand for hours in the direct sunlight) in 115 degree F Ambient air temps all while keeping track of timing of sequences of operations, using My Timex as my number-one tool for keeping track of that kinda stuff. Diagnosis would not happen without it. Accuracy: Hmm. a little behind the iphone weekly or monthly; loses about 5 minutes a month? maybe less. Either way, when I was trying to set it to the current time the other day, I pulled the crown right out of the watch to try and set the time. I put it back in and committed to purchasing another one. The crown is still in there, the watch still is keeping time (more slowly) and I just can't update the time it has lost. So in a month or so from now, it will be too far behind the actual time to be useful for me. Very well worth the cost! UPDATE: two months after purchasing the new watch, the indiglo stopped working when I needed in my sleep last night. I have contacted timex. I'll update this review once I get a robo-response from them. ... show more

  • Upside down out of the box!!! Upside down out of the box!!!
Color: Tan/Gray/Gunmetal
Upon opening my timex solar expedition, I noticed the bands were on the opposite sides, making the watch “upside down”. Not sure if this is just a lack of quality control from Timex, or if this was maybe a returned watch that Amazon decided to resell. The watch is beautiful, and timex is a workhorse of a watch, making it an ideal field watch. I like the tan leather band that comes with it, but it’s not exactly my style. So I added a black nylon 20mm strap, and it looks incredible. The watch has very nice and large numbers making it very easy to read. When charged, the watch is very easy to read in the dark, though it seems the lum doesn’t last super long. The second hand lines up with about 50% of the tick marks and is slightly off on the remaining. Overall, a high quality field watch for under $50! ... show more

  • So yeah, so that's the deal. And I hope this encourages all you guys to buy it
Color: Green/Natural/Black
It's a great watch. The bin's very comfortable I've been wearing not neutrilistic night on bands for many years. You don't have to worry about getting the band wet. Because weather, once you get it wet, it's destroyed. But the watch, it's very accurate. It's got a beautiful presentation. It's just the right weight. You know, defend super comfortable. And it's very easy to set. I mean, I baby, I baby, my watches. I'm so as much as I try not to get a little scratchy Martino. It happens, but generally they hold up very well and over, you know, I keep them for about 3 years. And you know, then I refoice them with the same model. So I've been buying the same model. Watches like especially this one for many years. And yeah, I bought another time X iron. And you know, a couple days ago, and they're just great watches, you know, so and there, I mean, there are about $20 less than ¥, the cassios, but but this is, you know, a little more dressier, which is what I wanted. So that that's one of the reasons why I bought it. You know plus I've had this brand I've been, you know, I've always loved the expedition series. And the ironman that I focused the other day is also very good too. So those series of arches are great, they're great watches. Do one thing I want to mention about the, you know, they don't have to keep Earth that shift their stationary. So you don't have to worry about this, annoying thing. And the keepers on the an ironman that I got the other day. Ian, you know, it's got the one top keeper and the one top lug. You know, I mean you can adjust the bands which I have done. But I would advise not doing it, because if you've got a really small wrist, I mean, I almost have a wrist of it's 6 holes for you know, from where the top to the middle comes to. So you know, the keepers, you know, I didn't even adjust it. Because it was, you know, you know, because you had destroyed the integrity of the band I believe. And you know, and there's enough room in there. In other word, bows not to wear it not away. The bands, the rubber bands, especially on time x.Going, you know, they're put perfectly. So you can.So you can have it on a high adjustment. And even an even bring the keeper down. And you're going to get great performance out of it ... show more

  • Superb Entry Level Field Watch Superb Entry Level Field Watch
An amazing watch for the price. Timex has produced a solid, stylish timepiece that punches way above its weight. The instrument’s unique Indiglo technology illumination is perfect for watch reading in dark conditions. The watch’s original band is a decent genuine leather strap but it looks even better upgraded with a top grain leather or marine nationale strap. No regrets on buying an Expedition Scout watch. A no brainer purchase for anyone looking for an inexpensive entry-level field watch. ... show more

  • Loud but great in every other way. Loud but great in every other way.
Got this on sale for a little over $30, and it easily hits well beyond that. The dial is highly legible and the font on the legends is quite nice. The orange on the seconds hand is a good contrast to the rest of the watch. The illumination is great and easy to activate. The stainless steel case feels sturdy, just like a field watch should feel. The only thing I'm iffy on is the eco friendly strap, but it's been 2 weeks and it seems to be holding up okay for now. For sizing, I have a 6.75" wrist, which is on the smaller side. The case is a bit on the larger size for my wrist size, but it's at the upper limit of what I'm personally willing to accept, so I can't complain. This is definitely more of an out and about sort of watch. It's something you can throw around and not worry about it getting smashed up. Casio and Timex excel at making watches like this. I wouldn't say its as versatile as my other watches, and I wouldn't wear this while trying to dress more elevated. That's not what this watch is meant for anyway. Now onto the main con. This watch is loud. I can hear it right now while it's on my desk. I can hear it on my wrist in between keystrokes while typing at the office. I actually don't want to put this on my nightstand because I'd hear it in my nightmares. I think me and a lot of watch lovers actually enjoy listening to how different watches tick, but being able to do it at arms length is a little overboard. Thankfully, I don't spend a ton of time in quiet environments and I don't keep my watches in the bedroom, so I don't have to deal with this problem very often. ... show more
