It features a large, round silver-tone brass watch case with a flattened, brushed bezel that frames an olive green dial background with Arabic numerals, inset 24-hour notations, large, luminous stick hands (with seconds hand), and a date display at 3 o'clock. With the Quick Date function, you can set the date on the watch without turning the crown for every 24-hour period. Just pull the stem halfway out, and turn until desired date is reached. It also offers an 8-year battery life, water resistance to 165 feet (50 meters), and a durable genuine leather strap. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer."

My watch battery died and I've found that Timex watches are actually cheaper to just buy another than it is to have a battery replaced, so I bought this one. Might be I no longer need a watch, since I have a smartphone, which communicates with GPS satellites and therefore always has time correct to the millisecond. Therefore, many people no longer wear watches but somehow I find it easier to look at a watch. This watch is a little small for those of us who can remember the Kennedy Administration. It has the 24-hour clock around the rim in even smaller numbers although it is still possible for a senior citizen to read if he has his glasses on. There's a date indicator which is so small it's barely legible, and it also has to be pushed ahead manually on months with less than 31 days (it's a "dumb" watch.) This won't surprise people my age but for those under 30 it might be a disappointment. To read it at night you press in on the button (only one there, can't miss it) and it lights up in "Indiglo" green, making the hands and numbers really stand out. Doing this requires considerable battery power, so don't check it at night more often than you have to (I found this out with a previous Timex watch). It does cost less than battery replacement but I ended up replacing the battery in my previous watch anyway. It seemed so profligate to throw away a perfectly good watch that I couldn't follow up on my rational economic decision. So I guess I wasted my money on this watch. Because my jobs were always on the rough side, sheet metal mechanic, I always went with inexpensive watches that kept good time. The two I have now are 14 years old and all I've done is had batteries replaced. Liked the looks of this one and I'm retired now but still doing a lot of outside work so I've stuck with the Timex brand that has served me so well over the last 40-50 years. The only thing I wish they did is change the Spring forward, Fall back crap that our government 'thinks' we need to do to survive. I'd have to go digital for that to happen. I really like the looks of this watch. The case is 35mm and the face is 30mm so a bit smaller that I thought it would be but it's fine. I really like the Indiglo feature. One criticism is the included instructions say nothing about setting the time or date. They direct you to the Timex website. To set the time you pull the crown all the way out, to set the date, half way out. ... show more

This watch is much more impressive in person. The leather of the bracelet looks sturdy and authentic. The 39mm case would not look good on someone with wide wrists or huge arms, but it fits perfectly on me (Average wrist size). The most impressive thing about the Brown/Olive version is the contrast between the colors on the dial; it is almost a perfect match, it makes reading time effortless, and you will love it. Pushing on the crown activates some bright backlight. In addition to the latter, the watch has incredible luminescence etched on the hands. Adjusting the time feels very satisfying as the hands move smoothly. The only downside of this watch is that the bezel does not look very polished, and it shows when you take a closer look or in some photos. Also, the watch box was of low quality. I would not mind paying more to have a version with fixes related to the aforesaid downsides. ... show more

It's everything a Timex is known for. Long lasting durability at a great price. I have other Timex watches with the Indiglo lighted dial and it is a great feature. Easy to read face and date. If this ever dies I'll buy another.

My father had bought me a very similar Timex and I would get compliments on a daily basis. I bought this watch for my youngest nephew as a send off to college for him. He immediately set it and put it on. I think he likes it. I hope he’s never late to class up at Cortland College.
