I got these boots right before a trip and only wore them around the house the day before to break them in. I wore them at White Sands Park up and down the sand hills. Thought for sure my boots would be full of sand, nothing!! Went to Sandia Crest where the snow was up to my knees in spots, again no snow in my boots and my feet stayed warm with regular socks. Hiked down to the Rio Grande River through thorny bushes and mud. In a weeks time I put some serious wear and tear on these boots and they held up great. Plus my feet never got sore. They do scratch up some, but I used leather polisher when I got home and most came out. If you like the worn leather look these are the boots for you. If you want nice polished leather, then look for something else. I have slightly narrow feet (at least for a size 11), but these fit perfect after stretching them a little. Aside from the few scratches (again I was pretty hard on them) these boots, including the soles, look brand new. I ordered another pair for a spare since I can never find size 11 boots I like.

I have had these boots for 2 months. I have put them to work doing some heavy labor in our yard. They scratch easily, so if you're buying for a clean boot look, these are not it. But if you're looking for some boots that are comfortable, heavy duty, and have a great grip, these are for you! Haven't had a chance to go hiking in them yet, but going up and down my 25% grade hill these are the only shoes that keep me upright without slipping. I usually get back and foot/leg pain after being on me feet too long, but not in these. I've been able to pull 10 hour yard work days without being uncomfortable. Besides the scratches, they have held up beautifully. I'm HARD on my shoes. I don't see myself needing to replace these for several more years, but when they do eventually give out, I will be buying another pair. These are my new FAVORITE pair of shoes!!!

I was looking for a replacement boot for light farm work. Something to keep my feet dry and protect from bumping into heavy items. I saw these hiking shoes and was excited about having a pair good looking boots, but unfortunate the leather was really thin. I wouldn’t even use them for hiking, they did not seem sturdy. I actually got these to be my pavement princess boots. Probably not the review you are looking for, but will give it anyway. Very comfortable fit. Very warm and very cute. Definitely waterproof which I love! Took them through a few standing water puddles and long wet grass. Not sure how well they would hold up with heavy prolonged and rough use though.

I got them in 9, I usually wear 8 or 8.5 but decided to go for 9 so I could wear thick socks. The tip is a little tight if the socks are too thick but overall they feel great. I spent hours walking on them and my feet were not killing me at the end of the night. They look great, the shoelaces are a beautiful shade of red. Of course they get scratched easily but that’s expected with leather, the tiny scratches don’t make them look bad or ugly it just shows they aren’t brand news. I can see myself getting another pair of the other brown in the future

I have worn Timberland boots for years without any issues. Good quality materials, however this Ellendale hiking boot is very narrow; had to return the item.
