Second update. Product support window closed on December 21, 2024 I reached out with a request to Timberline on December 12, 2024. I never heard anything back so now I noticed that the productUpdate December 12, 2024, so I continued to wear the old ones as I didn’t want to get the new ones dirty. I only wore these out to stores and such, but I began warring wearing them now and the sole is already separating. my daughters Timberland newer ones as well. Also had a sole separate on them. I glued them back. I figured it was a fluke but the other one separated I’m glued it back. I’m going to glue these back, Simply I don’t want to lose my investment, but I would not buy Timberland again. Unless Timberland decides to read this and send me another pair as I am very disappointed hopefully others are not having the same experience. I have worn Timberland for years the last pair I bought was around 2016 so I got about 8 years out of it. I don’t wear them every day I wear them hiking and working in the yard and hunting and things like that but they’ve always been very good at waterproofing, traction and top notch in comfort. I was just gonna get another pair of timberlands. I ordered them from Academy. I always wear eight they were too narrow read the reviews on Amazon, others complain about them being narrow so I purchased an eight. Yes they are narrow compared to my others. I also got a Nortiv8 and Columbia MR something. Timberland size 8 1/2 now fits me like 8 used to and I haven’t grown. Timberland compared to the Columbia and the Nortiv8. There was a huge difference the Columbia newton ridge while it had had 27,000 reviews and most of them are good. they must’ve been paid for those reviews. because the shoes weren’t sturdy definitely not a hiking shoe. maybe a knock around the yard shoe but the soul is very soft hollow has air pockets in the show sole. you could push it in with your finger. so I can only imagine how weak it would be on sharp stones and in rough rocky terrain. it wouldn’t work well. The Nortiv8 looks and seems quite well made especially for the price of 50.00. But I was unsure of the waterproofing ability. The comfort, fit and thickness of the soul were much better than Colombia but we’re not up to where the Timberland quality. I kept the Timberland at $75 more than the Nortiv but they feel fit and wear so well and I’m confident in the waterproof ability as I’ve had them for 20+ years ... show more

  • Comfortable, Durable, and Built for the Trail
Size: 8.5 Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
Comfortable, Durable, and Built for the Trail I’ve put a few pairs of hiking boots through their paces over the years, and these Timberland Chocorua Trail Mids really stand out. Right out of the box, they had that rugged, well-built look with quality leather and sturdy stitching. Once laced up, they fit comfortably without that overly stiff “break-in” period some boots demand. After a couple of hikes, they felt even better, molding nicely to my foot. The waterproofing has been reliable—I’ve gone through wet grass and shallow streams, and my feet stayed dry. Traction is solid on dirt and rocky paths, and the boots give good ankle support without feeling too heavy. They strike a nice balance between sturdy and lightweight, which makes them easy to wear for longer treks. A couple of things to keep in mind: the sizing runs true for me, but if you usually wear thicker socks on hikes, consider going up half a size. Also, while they’re waterproof, they aren’t insulated, so in colder weather you’ll want warm socks. Bottom line: These boots deliver exactly what you’d hope for—comfort, durability, and solid performance on the trail. A great choice if you need a dependable all-around hiking boot. ... show more

  • Great hiking boots.
Size: 11.5 Color: Medium Brown Full-grain
This is my third pair of Timberland Chocorua boots over the last 10 years or so. They are great. Very comfortable even for my old feet. Footbed has excellent arch support. They wear well. Reasonably priced for the quality.

  • Good shoes, slightly lacking in arch support
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
I like buying Timberland shoes because of their fit. For some reason their 11.5W shoes all fit my feet like a glove. I needed hiking boots for some hiking I was going to do in Yosemite and decided not to take any chances. It turned out to be a good choice because these boots are sized exactly like their regular shoes. If you like their regular shoes, these should fit just the same. The boots are incredibly comfortable. I only barely broke them in walking just a few blocks at a time before going on two day hikes on two consecutive days. On both days my feet hurt far less than I had anticipated and I had no blisters. Also, the boots feel much lighter than previous boots I have owned. Even by the end of the second day of hiking I did not feel like I was expending any additional effort to lug my shoes around. They just felt like a natural extension of my legs. The grip was also quite good. We did one hike near a waterfall and the rocky path up the mountain was at times a little slick from the spray. I slid around a little on the way down, but I was positively surprised by how well planted my feet felt. The water proofing also worked great. Even though the lip of the shoe is quite small and does not overlap with the shoe itself very much, when I put the boots in a stream my feet did not get wet. As a side note, I had just applied Timberland's wax and all of the water beaded nicely on the shoes. The shoes also breathed quite well. Of course by the end of the day my feet did not smell the best, but I know from experience they they could have been a lot worse. It appeared that the shoes did a good job removing the extra moisture and letting my feet breathe. There are only two things I did not like about these shoes. First, I found the arch support to be slightly lacking. Relative to other Timberland shoes I have owned (I have never owned their boots though) the arches seemed slightly flatter. If I was going to go for really long multi-day hikes I probably would look into getting very thin inserts to correct for this. The other thing I did not fully like is the build quality around the sole. Although the entire top half of the shoe seemed well made, it looks like the person who attached the soles onto them did a slightly sloppier job. Nothing has come remotely loose so far but they just look like they could have done with a little more care. ... show more
