This is the 2nd Tilly hat we ordered. The 1st one was several years ago. It was a birthday gift for my husband. We ordered a 7 1/4 size in the neutral color and it was tight, but fit. After it got wet, or washed, (can’t remember, it’s been years ago) it no longer fit because it shrunk. Honestly, I’m sure we measured wrong because after all this time, the one we ordered was a size 7 3/4 in the khaki color and it fits perfectly. You can get 2 fingers under the hat like they suggest for the proper fit. It’s a win for me as his wife because the smaller one fits me perfect! We ordered this on Amazon, but it was sent from a company called “OutlandUSA” and it’s a authentic Tilly hat with the same 10oz material, and we couldn’t believe we received the hat the next day! They sent it first class, and the box said “Extremely Urgent”! Inside the box it had the invoice with a note thanking us for our order, with instructions on how to return the hat if we wanted to and also gave their phone number and e-Mail address ([email protected]) and if there were any issues with our order to give them a call. NO, I AM NOT BEING PAID FOR THIS REVIEW!! I just thought the great service should be shared from this company, and the hat is still the same awesome Tilly quality!

I've had a T3 hat for years that is still in good shape but seems to have shrunk after repeated washing and sun exposure(I don't think my head got bigger) so I thought I'd treat myself to another in a larger size. The new one is marked as a size larger but is actually smaller, even right out of the box and requires stretching just to fit on my head. Not real comfortable, in any case and I'm concerned after washing it will get worse. I notice the company has changed hands since my first one so that may be part of the issue too. Now owned by a company that may be more concerned about cost cutting and just the numbers. Still a decent hat if yours fits, but they sell at a premium price that used to guarantee that quality was important, not just a marketing slogan.

I bought this after trying few other hats, what a great product. Made in Canada, life time warranty, looks great, floats on water! SPF 50+. Heavy weight materials and sturdy. You can’t go wrong with this hat.

r30 years ago I purchased my first Tilly hat. Wore it everywhere, canoe trips, walking dogs, camping, etc. Just recently I misplaced it so ordered my new one. As dependable as the last.

I love this Tilley. I have the classic T4 Khaki Classic duck from 2006 which I've worn every day (and returned for a replacement a few years ago). This one is slightly tighter, the brim is a tad smaller and although solidly constructed, the brim is a bit wavy like a boogie hat so I wear it for informal occasions. It has become my absolute favorite Tilley. Stays on in the wind even without using the chin strap. Color is deep army green and almost brownish. The "floppy" brim doesn't flip up in the wind. It has buttons to pull up the sides but I don't wear it that way - after all, I'm not shooting anything for the Australian army anytime soon.

Yes, as others have noted, this particular hat seemingly runs one size small. I typically wear size 7 3/4 in Tilley hats but had to move up to 7 7/8 for a satisfactory fit. All that said, this is an outstanding hat. It and my 7 3/4 hemp are my go to hats for summer. I like it so much I purchased a second one in another color.
