First let me start with I had a friend who used this product and said it worked great so I thought I would give it a shot, but I quickly learned that this is not the best tool to use. The guide fit just fine, the inserts where off center and the drill bits don’t fit properly. The off center inserts cause the drill to going into the exhaust flange. Dont believe all the negative comments. Run the drill bits through the fittings to clearance them. I ran a tap through the plastic so the fittings thread in easy. Dont tighten the fittings all the way so they wont strip out. Use cutting fluid so the fitting doesnt overheat and melt the plastic. Pull the drill bit out to evacuate the shavings often. Go slow. Worked beautifully and still in good enough shaoe to resuse a couple more times if needed. ... show more

If it was made of aluminum it would be so much better. The inserts strip out in the plastic housing.

I was able to drill out the exhaust stud and retap the threads with this kit. It worked as designed. Saved me from buying a new head or getting a helicoil.

Bought to drill out one exhaust stud on a harley. Small drill bit didn't fit all the way thru the insert and hole was drilled off center. Larger insert was fine. Sadly since the guide is made out of plastic as soon as the drill bit got hot and heated up the insert it spun in the plastic guide mount stripping it out. One use and its no un usable.
