  • Satisfied
Material Type: Blue - 2% Lanthanated Size: 1/16"
The reason im giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I'm still a student. I am still learning how different types of tungsten weld. At school, we use 2% thoriated tungsten and it works well. But the tungsten gets reused by different students daily and I sometime feel i have to clean it often. So I bought my own tig kit. I immediately notice how well it held up on higher amperage. It didnt ball up as much as 2% Thor. did on AC on 70 amps. It holds a fine tip longer and sharper. It is harder to sharpen too if i happen to contaminate it. The package is exactly as the picture. No problems in shipping. I am a satisfied customer. ... show more

  • Big Improvement!
Material Type: Blue - 2% Lanthanated Size: 3/32"
This was the improvement I was looking for in my aluminum welding! Had 2 other tungstens that were supposed to be ok for aluminum, but this one is much, much better with the exact same settings and procedure & piece of material. Wish I'd have bought it sooner.

  • Worked great on an older Syncrowave
Material Type: Blue - 2% Lanthanated Size: 3/32"
I had to weld up some 1/8" aluminum box tubing and plate for my local HS robotics team. I was using some green (pure) tungsten and wasn't too happy with how quickly I was eating up tungsten. I'm using an older Miller Syncrowave 250, not a newer inverter machine and checked online and saw that lanthanated (blue) tungsten was recommended by some for welding on aluminum. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how the new, blue, tungsten worked. Still balled up at the tip, but stayed pretty stable after that. I will definitely, be sticking with this from now on for aluminum welds. ... show more
