Features

  • CINEMATIC GLOW WITH CONTROL: Create a polished film-like look by softening harsh highlights, lowering contrast, and adding a subtle warmth that enhances skin tones while maintaining natural image detail and dimensionality with the Black Pro Mist Filter
  • ENHANCED HALATION & SOFTENING: Creates noticeable highlight bloom, softer contrast, and a richer cinematic atmosphere while retaining important subject detail and texture.
  • PERFECT FOR MOODY CINEMATIC VISUALS: Ideal for music videos, fashion shoots, stylized portraits, dramatic interviews, and filmmakers seeking a stronger diffusion effect in-camera.
  • TRUSTED TIFFEN QUALITY, MADE IN NEW YORK: Manufactured using Tiffen's ColorCore technology for consistent optical performance and the dependable image quality trusted by photographers and filmmakers worldwide.
  • SOFTEN MODERN DIGITAL SHARPNESS: Takes the edge off today's highly detailed sensors to create a more organic rendering while preserving the character and detail that make images engaging.

Description

The Black Pro Mist helps to reduce the value of the highlights while slightly lowering the overall contrast. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image.

    • Good but.. I have a problem
Size: 82mm Style: Filter
nice to meet you Purchased in November 2021. But only then did I realize that something was wrong. I bought 2 black mist filters (1/2, 1/4). But a few days ago, while talking to someone else, "This is not a 1/2 black mist filter, it's a regular UV filter?" When I looked at the 1/4 black mist filter, the word black mist was written next to the filter, but the filter I believed to be 1/2 had only "UV" written on it. Please check if there has been such a case, and ask if it can be resolved. Oh, I am very satisfied with the 1/4 black mist filter. ... show more

I have been curious about this kind of filter for a long time, but unsure if it would really be needed because I use editing software for my photos where I want full control and was concerned this would give me an effect I'd be stuck with, when I could otherwise just add the effect in as desired with software. But it was the glow around lights that caused me to try it and after just one night of testing, I'm definitely glad I bought it. The comparison photos shows no filter on the left, and with filter on the right. ... show more

    • 1/4th might be better but solid stuff!
Size: 77mm Style: Filter
I wanted to change the look of some of my scenes so I opted for this pro-mist filter for my Rokinon cinema lens. It's a great combo, and for the right uses the 1/2 filter is great but for the most part is kind of abrasive/extra. It's nice to have in my kit, but I think for those not explicitly set on the pro-mist look, opt for the 1/4th! ... show more

After reading that others say the Black Promist takes the digital edge off of images and that it blooms highlights, I was interested in trying it out as I like a cinematic style to my photography. This product exceeded my expectations and never leaves my lens.

    • More mist than a sprinkler
Size: 67mm Style: Filter
This filter right here. This one hits hard with that soft glow. It could work for the bomb squad with all the diffusion it does. It already done went PRO. You might make it rain but this one makes it MIST. Coming at you with that 1/2 strength cause honestly you canโ€™t handle more.
