We bought this watch for our daughter as her first “phone” and overall we are very happy with it. Setup was not hard and the parent app is easy to understand. I like that everything is controlled by parents and there is no internet or social media. The watch can make calls, send messages, share location, and also has camera and video call. For us main use is location tracking and quick calls like “come home” or “where are you”. It does the job well. Big plus for me is carrier flexibility. I am not locked into private monthly plans, as I am using a low cost MVNO SIM and pay around way less than subscriptions per month. If price goes up later I can switch carrier or even stop service anytime. This flexibility was big reason I chose TickTalk. Battery lasts around 2–3 days for us with normal use. Watch feels solid and kid friendly. There are some games and camera but no internet browser or apps, so not too distracting. One con is GPS location is not always very precise. Sometimes it shows nearby area or street, not exact spot. But it still gives a good general idea where the kid is, which is enough for our use. Overall very good balance of safety, control and cost. Happy with the purchase and would buy again.

Best purchase for my kids! We bought one for each and it’s great! It has gps tracker, text and call to only the numbers you authorize from the parent phone app. Also they can communicate with other friends who also have TickTalk, however a parent approval is needed as well for adding other friends contacts. You can block incoming calls from non saved numbers ..and plan is only $9.99/month. It also has an emergency button to press and call a default contact in case of an emergency, and both parents (if they have the app) get a push notification saying that kid initiated an emergency call…honestly it’s a peace of mind! It also doesn’t have any games of distracting elements, and you can block the watch from your phone whenever they need to be focused in school or doing homework…It’s easy to operate by the kids. Great buy!

Solid kid’s smartwatch that’s affordable with reliable calling and GPS — 5 stars I bought the TickTalk5 for my 10‑year‑old in 5th grade, so she can stay in touch while riding the late bus with much older kids, including all the way up thru high school. Call quality is clear even out in the boondocks of southeastern York County, PA, and GPS updates are accurate within a few minutes. The parental app is straightforward to set up and use. What I liked • Real phone functionality: It works like a true cell phone with its own number, not a limited device. • Service value: We use the base prepaid plan ($9.99) — unlimited texts, plenty of call minutes, and a small data allotment. • Reliable coverage: Calls and location tracking have been dependable in rural areas where other kid‑watch brands struggle. What could be better • Battery life: Expect about 24–36 hours with moderate use, so plan on nightly charging. Bottom line If you want simple, dependable watch with calling and location features without giving your child a full smartphone, this is an excellent, affordable choice. Unlike Verizon’s Gizmo, which restricts texting to approved devices or 3rd party apps, the TickTalk5 behaves like a normal phone and gives you more flexibility and peace of mind.

This TickTalk watch has been an excellent choice for my family. It’s easy for my nine-year-old son to use and the parent app is very functional. I love that it has GPS tracking and video calling so I can check on my son whenever I want. My son loves to use it to call his grandparents without having to use my phone. The battery lasts all day and charges quickly. I use the AT&T network and it usually has a strong connection. The only thing I would change is the notifications when I open the parents app. While I love that it’s tracking my son’s steps. It’s not the first thing I need to know when I open the app. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would buy it again.

We love the watches. My eldest has had the 4 since 22, and part of the plastic broke, making it unwearable. But it lasted 3.5 years of HARD use! We upgraded to the 5 this last month. The only complaint I have is that I’ll get a notification that there is a text message, but it won’t load it. I have to completely hard close the app and then reopen it. The tracking is fairly accurate. We live in Alaska so sometimes I have to manually reset the pin so it knows where to look after it’s been off for a couple days. It’s fairly easy to use. The kids figured it out immediately. If there is anything I don’t know how to do, the TickTalk website has had all of the instructions I have needed. I very much enjoy the limiting of who can call and who can text them and vice versa. I also like that I can see whatever they text or whoever they call on the app.
