I bought a tiny one from a different company, and then this full size one. The tiny one was awful!! The notes are not even close to being accurate. It made Twinkle Twinkle sound like Nightmare Before Christmas. But this full size one sounds accurate. I had fun playing on it trying to figure out more songs. Nice wood. ... show more

    • How fun!
I have to stay off my feet for a bit so I was looking for things to do while sitting. This came up so I thought I would give it a try. The finger piano arrived quickly. It is a pretty, wood-grained instrument. It came with a velvet like carrying case, instruction book, a little metal hammer, some colored stickers and two rubber thimble like covered for your thumbs. As I am a pianist, the first thing I checked was the tuning. It was very close to being in tune, but the E6 just made a thudding sound. I read through the instruction manual and there was nothing about how to actually tune this and nothing about the tuning hammer. There is also nothing in there on what to do with the stickers. The manual does provide you with some very basic instructions on how to play this along with some music. It is definitely a learning experience to read music from bottom to top and have notes sideways! If the manual was better, this would be a five star product. Regardless, I am looking forward to playing around with this and making some music while I am off my feet. ... show more

Seems very nicely made. Not an expert on these things but definitely a quality one. From the beautiful wooden box to the well identified note strums. I watched a few YouTube videos on how it worked after reading instructions. They showed this exact unit and it sounded amazing being played by someone who had learned it. Can’t wait to get that good. Sure it won’t take too long. The one thing I wasn’t real sure about was the thumb guards. First, I’m a big guy and the things wouldn’t fit any of my fingers. But after watching YouTube I took note that the people playing them didn’t use them anyways. So no big problem there. Gonna use this to relax to at night. You’ll know what I mean once you try it. I ordered this for myself and was really pleased with it. It has a good sound and the notes are engraved on the keys. It's easy to practice and it comes with a little book of music with songs you can learn on the kalimba. I really enjoyed this little instrument. Unfortunately for me, my brother came to visit and ended up taking it home with him. He and his kids were delighted by it, so I'd recommend it as a gift idea if you have family or friends who are musically inclined or interested in learning. The tones on this are really nice. I've never played one before so I can't compare. The higher notes don't ring out as long as the lower notes, but I would expect that. It comes with a very nice booklet to get you started playing, a hammer (not really well explained in the booklet how best to play with the hammer), a wipe to clean everything, some silicon fingertip pads, and a bag to store it all. Overall it's a nice package, at a very reasonable price, and I really enjoyed noodling on it, I found it quite relaxing to experiment with playing different chords and piecing melodies together.
