  • Perfect wheel to get you hooked
Bought it for 260$ on Black Friday. This is my first racing wheel, and I'm blown away. My only experience of racing wheels was at arcades, but using the T248 with Grant Turismo 7 is so much better then that. I feel like I'm driving a real car. The pedals feel good, with nice resistance, and the wheel has good resistance and feedback. I'd say I can't always feel the small bumps especially on straight lines, the way I would on a real car, and the wheel is smaller than a real car, but other then that it's all so smooth. From my research, it's better than a Logitech G29, since it's got more torque which makes the force feedback better, and it's pedals are better. The downside is you can't swap wheels, which I don't really plan to do anyways. For 260$, which is what I paid, and I saw the G29 was available at 200$, it still feels like that extra 60$ was worth it. And overall I was able to get the T248 and a GT Omega stand for 400$ total, at that price it was worth every penny and I'd really recommend people who want to get into a racing wheel to start with this, it's good enough to hook you and get you into racing. Worth nothing, I'm not super into racing games normally, but this wheel is game changer, it's so much more fun to drive with it. Now I'm just hoping GT7 gets PSVR2 support! ... show more

  • Turned Gran Turismo into a real driving simulator
I bought this over a week ago with the intention to introduce my Brazilian wife to driving a real car. I have have a PS5 but still have the PS4 vr and I took the plunge and invested in the T248. Looking at the range of pricing of different add on steering wheels, I thought the T248 would be a good start. It is amazing. I also got the DIWANGUS Racing Wheel Stand Foldable Steering Wheel Stand with Collapsible Tilt-Adjustable Racing Stand and with the VR headset it feels like I'm inside the car. The pedals also feel real as they are steel and sturdy. The only downside is the spongy brake pedal, but the black spring makes the pedal feel firm. I have seen reviewers on here criticize the steering wheel is slow, but it feels very real as it would in a real car. The feedback is awesome. The leather steering wheel feels real, although it's a little small comparable to the sports cars that I've driven in real life I will most likely upgrade and get the add on gear shifter, PSvr2, and Gran Turismo 7. I played Gran Turismo for many years with the motion sensing controllers, and quite honestly, after using this steering wheel I'll never play another drive simulator without one 👍🏾 ... show more

  • Excellent Starter Wheel for Sim Racing Hopefuls
I raced this wheel for about a year and a half, and loved every second of it. I raced in VR, and all of the controls were easy to feel on the thumb. The paddle shifters are loud, but they feel solid. Force feedback is adjustable on the wheel, and even though it peaks at 3.5nm, it's strong enough to limit steering and give a pretty good feeling of the road. The metal on the pedals does show some wear, but it's purely aesthetic and they still feel smooth. ... show more

  • Exceptional Racing Experience - Thrustmaster T248P Delivers!
I've been using the Thrustmaster T248P Racing Wheel and Magnetic Pedals since January 3, 2022, and it's been an absolute thrill ride! This setup has significantly enhanced my racing game experience, offering realism and precision that I hadn't encountered with other wheels. The HYBRID DRIVE system is a standout feature. It provides dynamic force feedback that realistically simulates the resistance and sensations of driving a real car. Whether I'm skidding around a tight corner or feeling the impact of uneven terrain, the feedback is incredibly immersive, adding depth to my gaming sessions. The build quality of both the wheel and pedals is top-notch. They feel sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding intense gaming sessions without showing any signs of wear. The wheel's grip is comfortable for long periods, which is crucial for endurance races. Magnetic paddle shifters are a game-changer. They provide that satisfying click with each shift, and their responsiveness is spot-on, allowing for quick and accurate gear changes. The difference in performance compared to standard shifters is night and day. The pedals are equally impressive. The magnetic mechanism gives them a realistic feel, especially when it comes to progressive resistance on the brake pedal. This feature allows for more precise speed control, crucial in racing games where every millisecond counts. Another aspect I love is the screen with racing information. It's a convenient way to keep track of important stats without having to look away from the action. The ability to customize what information is displayed is a thoughtful touch, allowing me to tailor it to my preferences. The wheel's compatibility with different racing games and platforms has also been a huge plus. It seamlessly integrates with my gaming setup, and the process of setting it up and calibrating it was straightforward. In conclusion, the Thrustmaster T248P Racing Wheel and Magnetic Pedals have been a fantastic addition to my gaming rig. After nearly a year of constant use, it continues to perform excellently, consistently adding realism and excitement to my racing game experiences. I highly recommend it to any enthusiast looking for a high-quality, immersive racing wheel and pedal setup. ... show more

  • Convoluted Connection to PS4 - LOUSY Support! Convoluted Connection to PS4 - LOUSY Support!
Ordered the T248 for PS5/PS4. According to the instructions, it's absurdly easy to connect to a PS4 - connect 3 cables to the wheel, secure the wheel to a table, connect the USB cable to the PS4, connect the power, and boom- you're ready to go. However, when powered on, as it's supposed to, the wheel turned to it's limits right and left and then centered itself - but none of the buttons worked. The PS4 didn't recognize the wheel. The LED display on the wheel says "PC". Say what? I ordered the Thrustmaster for PlayStation - the box says "For PS5/PS4" - and the default is PC? The mode button on the wheel allows you to change to PS4, but the PS4 still doesn't recognize the wheel. I powered it off and on again - still won't connect to the PS4. Called the support number - they were closed (on Sunday). So I went to the support website. The support website only has the same information as the user manual, with no info on troubleshooting. I went on the web to see what I could find. The only thing I could find is people who were trying to connect to a PC said you needed to update the firmware, so I gave that a try. To update the firmware, even for a PS4, you must connect to a PC. The documentation provided by Thrustmaster on how to do this is severely lacking. It says to connect to the Thrustmaster "App". No Thrustmaster App in the app store. Turns out you download the drivers for Thrustmaster and the "app" is embedded with the drivers. Why don't they say that in the support documentation? Updated the firmware and now it will connect to the PS4. Installed the wheel temporarily on a table to test if everything works -it does! On Monday, mounted the the Thrustmaster "permantly" on my sim cockpit and powered up the Thrustmaster - it doesn't connect to the PS4! Arrrrgh! Called support number listed in the user manual - a message on the number said "we've changed the number to provide better support" (I'll believe that when I see it!). It is from area code 929 which is New York. I'm returning this $400 piece of JUNK! ... show more

  • Great wheel! Changed my racing experience!
There is always going to be something out there that might be better, but for me, I was running a 20 year old Microsoft wheel. The more serious I got into with sim racing a new wheel was a must. I watched a lot of reviews online and this wheel was the clear winner for the amount of money I wanted to spend. People will always be brand bias, or whatever, in my opinion, this is a fantastic wheel. The pedals were also a huge improvement to what I had. The only thing you WILL HAVE TO DO is mount the pedals to something. The gas pedal is very easy to push, the brake pedal comes with a stiffer spring as well as a spacer to stiffen the pedal even more. I personally am looking into an even softer spring then what’s provided. But that’s what I’m doing. I feel like having to push so hard on the brakes is hard on the physical pedal. Buying the wheel forced my to build a rig because trying to use the pedals with them just on the floor was IMPOSSIBLE out of the package. That’s the only thing to watch out for. Otherwise. Been using this setup for about a month or so, works really good. If you want a wheel that has an interchangeable steering wheel. THIS DOES NOT. Just a heads up ... show more

  • Good for the price
I've had this for some time now and feel like I can give it a review. I spent a little instead of more, and got what I paid for. Basically, it is good for the price, but I could have afforded better and wish I had. I bought this specifically to get away from Logitech when I had to replace a G29 I had for many years, and I regret my decision. The one positive is the "encoders" as they call them, the two switches that offer 12 extra programmable switch assignments. If you can manage to remember what you programmed, these can be fantastic in games like ATS/ETS2. Otherwise, this purchase has been a lesson in frustration and getting what I paid for. There are a few games that won't recognize or play nice with the wheel, mainstream games like Assetto Corsa and Drift Rally 2, as a couple examples. Other Thrustmaster wheels work, as well as other brands, but not this one. The wheel does not have it's own software, so no native support for binding keys to buttons, and so there is no way to program the wheel for some games without third party software. Also makes it so there is no per-game setups, so cannot tell it to use force feedback from wheel for one app and feedback from game for another - must manually change it through Windows game controllers settings app every time, an app that really doesn't do anything but show button presses and allow feedback tuning, but no configuring of buttons or controls. My biggest complaint right away was the shift paddles - they click loud enough to wake the neighbors! I don't even want to use them. It's that bad. My second was the single clip connection method for a desk - it does not lock solid unless you twist the lock so hard it seems like it might break the handle. Imagine some people are not strong enough to get it tight and have a wheel that won't move. And the construction feels cheap. All plastic. At this point, the thin wrap on the handle is flaking off and making a mess on the floor, and the printing on some of the buttons is already rubbed off. Could just be me, but I feel like this wheel experiences more clipping than even the older G29 did. Seems like there is more often "dead spots" or slack spots during vibration. I also had a problem with the foot pedals connector. I thought the clutch pedal went bad. Then, it was intermittent while troubleshooting and I thought the connector was bad on the pedals cable, but actually found that it is the internal connector in the wheel base that is the issue - I had to silicone the connector in place with a tilt in one direction to get a constant connection. Thrustmaster was absolutely not helpful in any way and would not warranty the product, their only solution was to return it to (purchase place). But the wheel still works and I put hundreds of hours on it. We'll give it that. ... show more
