These defiantly aren’t boots but they do their job super well. I went walking in the long uncut backyard of my home to see if I could entice some snakes to get some dinner. Although I didn’t have an incident my legs have never felt safer in the snake ingested yard. got these cause living in the south got lots of snakes in our area. especially out in camping areas and out fishin, haven't had a snake try to bite me but better safe then sorry. fits pretty good.

Easy to put on and wear. I have big calf's and skinny ankles, but that's no problem. All around protection from snake bites is important in the bush while hiking or hunting as copperheads are everywhere and silent until it's too late. Only downside is the closure on the front pocket... it's Velcro. That ripping noise is no good while hunting; far too loud and unusable. Nice idea, but a magnetic closure, or even a nylon zipper would have been better. Still, these are comfortable and provide the protection you need... pocket or no. ... show more

I don't live in the country anymore, but I do go out photographing there multiple times a month. I am often walking through brush and I'm used to being careful but having some protection would make things easier. I have often thought about getting snake guards but never actually got around to it, but when I saw these from ThrillSafe I thought it was about time, so I ordered them. Being what they are you would expect them to be well made and indeed they were. They are made with a good 1000D grade Cordura with inserts. The gaiters are Velcro adjusted for fit and then the outer part wraps around and buckles over that. They are listed as being one size fits all and will accommodate a calf muscle of 14 to 20 inches. Mine are 16 inches and my wife's calves are 15 inches. Neither of us had a problem getting them to fit snugly. They do have pockets on the front but personally I doubt I will use them although I am sure some people will find them useful. In use, they were much more comfortable to wear than I had expected. I thought I would be aware of them with every step but that wasn't the case and I soon forgot they were there. My personal choice would be to wear these with stout boots rather than running shoes as the protective part over the uppers will not reach your toes. Overall, these are very well made and they're a small price to pay for the peace of mind they give. If you are considering snake gaiters, consider these! ... show more

So these are some of the best made gators I have owned. I normally wear snake chaps and when in the snow I wear snow gators. I thought I would try snake gators instead of the chaps because they may be cooler and easier to use. So far, I am sold on these. They are easy to put on and cover everything below the knee. You do need hightop boots for complete coverage. If I wear my lowtop boots there is a small gap the ocasionally shows when I walk. They are much cooler then the snake chaps and provide pretty good protection. There is a small pocket in the front of these that is kind of useless. It doesn't open very far and you can't get you hand in it. So if you put anything small in it, it will be lost until you take the gators off. I ordered these leg protectors for the fam-man. They have Velcro straps, and three straps on each leg. These appear to be very well-made, so I'm happy with the purchase. He is happy too. We knew they made snake boots, but did not know they made "leggings" for snakes. He's a hunter and does "guy things" like adventures in the woods in the pre-fall timeframe. He will be going out this weekend to set up cameras and tree stands for the hunting season. I ordered them just in time... because SNAKES!!! Just the thought! My mom got a snake bite just walking on the farm. We're hoping they protect against a bite because we also have rattlesnakes in the area. These are easy to get into, stay in place when being worn, comfortable, lightweight, solid construction, and appear to be good protection against snakes. We have a couple places we mow that are near wooded areas. They also retain water, making it almost impossible to cut the grass with a mower during part of the year. The grass get pretty high in spots, and even when it's short, it's not unusual to see a snake trying to escape back into the brush. These give me a lot more confidence when I'm mowing and weed eating those patches. These gaiters will get used frequently, and they look like they're built for the wear. So I don't use gaiters for their normal outdoor purposes (protection from snow or animals). I use them for bike riding in pants (e.g., around a university campus). I hate getting bike grease on my right pant leg. I've tried various solutions and then about 28 years ago stumbled across gaiters and started using them. These are really good gaiters, but a bit too thick for my purposes for biking. However, if you intend to use these gaiters for their stated purpose I don't think you can go wrong.
