I cut grass daily, as a job. I bought these because I wear yoga pants while cutting grass and I always end up with grass in my boots, itching me to death. These have eliminated that problems totally. The first few uses I thought they weren't going to work because they felt like they were going to slide down, but they didn't. They stay in place even if the drawstring comes loose. Hunted in Colorado mountains mid November for a week with no issues or concerns for the gaiters. Performed as expected and would buy again. Only downside is they are a little narrow if you are layered up or have bigger boots on. Fit comfortably but had to pull tight to ensure Velcro lined up so they’d stay closed. For my second trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park I wanted to be more prepared for hiking in sand. These gaiters were perfect! If you start by attaching the little metal hook to your shoe lace first the rest of the process for getting them on seems to make a little more sense. I hiked in these for 7 hours in the sand and didn't get any sand in my shoes. The strap that goes around the bottom of the shoe held up nicely and doesn't even show any signs of wear. These will obviously come in handy when walking through deep snow as well. Very pleased with this purchase. The medium size fit me perfectly and I didn't have adjust them at all during my hike. I'm a lady's size 10 petite and these (size M) just barely fasten up for me. Granted, my snow boots are kind of bulky with fur trim around the top, adding to the width of my legs. They are tight! I bought these as a disposable item to keep my socks and pants free from stickers and insects during a yearly lot cleanup. They did the job and held up much better than I would have expected. I have hope that they would be serviceable for the next few times I have to use them. Good product.

There isn’t enough adjustability on the foot strap so it’s to big. It’s only a small Velcro piece. According to my leg measurement the extra large should’ve been for me but it’s a little bit too tall also.
