I’m very happy with this set of 3 nontoxic ceramic bowls with airtight, leakproof lids. They seem sturdy and well-made and the topical toucan décor reminds me of happy vacations. The airtight lids work very well, with a tight seal. I’ve found the easiest way to attach them is to open the lid vent, attach the lid, then, close the lid vent. Instant airtight seal. I had my doubts about these really being “dishwasher safe”, worried that the whimsical pain job would fade. So, I test washed one in the dishwasher and then compared it to the others and happy to report: no fading. I don’t t have/use a microwave, so, I can’t comment on that aspect. These are also described as oven and freezer safe, which, if true(I haven’t tested this), is a very nice feature. At this point, a very cute set of deep ceramic bowls with useful gasket lids, a pleasure to use and look at, I highly recommend 👍🏻 (I’ll update if anything changes) ... show more

One of the lids is broken. Though there was an air vacuum sealer, this is making it difficult to open the lids once they are sealed. Also when the push button on the lid is pressed we cannot close the box with the lid. The bowls are good quality though. They can withstand 6 minutes in microwave easily. ... show more

    • Pretty bowl broke & lid hard to remove.
I wanted to use the bowls for soup, storage & microwave. The 2 pretty yellow bowls were very well wrapped, but one broke in half as I opened it. I found the lids hard to remove. I'm returned the bowls.

These are very pretty bowls in sizes that will be useful for storing or reheating food. The lids fit securely, which would be convenient for things like taking your lunch to work and being able to reheat it in the same container you brought it in. I used to use two containers for that: I carried the food to work in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid, but I then transferred it to a ceramic container with a glass lid for reheating, because I did not want to heat the food in the plastic container. if you use one of these bowls, you would not have to get a second container dirty. I see that the lids are vented, but I do not see an explanation on the webpage of how the venting is supposed to work. The “About this item” section says that the lids are “100% airtight”, but If they are vented, then they can’t be airtight, can they? It also says that the lids are “freezer, dishwasher, and microwave safe”, but then it says “Separate the lid from the bowl before placing in the microwave and dishwasher”. I understand separating the lid from the bowl in the dishwasher, but there’s no point in putting the lid in the microwave unless it’s on the bowl. I can’t make any sense of that instruction. So what are the vents for, and how do they work? I see a white thing that can be pushed down against the top of the lid, or pushed up from the bottom, but there’s no information on when or why you would do either. One of the reviewers says that if the white thing is pushed up, you can microwave with the lids on. But that goes against the instruction to take the lids off in the microwave. Also, there were some hard-to-remove labels that appeared to be in Chinese (or something that looked like Chinese to me) stuck to the lids. I wish I knew what they said. Anyway, the bowls are really nice, but I’m not sure whether or how I’ll be using the lids. ... show more

There were labels written in Japanese on each container that seemed to be a warning of some kind so I’ma little afraid to use them. To be cautious, we don’t put them in the microwave and we hand wash only. If you’re up for that kind of maintenance and use, then these seem like great containers.
