These are wonderful for writing in journals or every day notes. Flows great and no running. Fabulous pens.

    • Great disposable fountain pen, with ONE MAJOR FLAW.
The media could not be loaded. I ordered these in several colors and I find them to be very good. The ink flows very well and I've had no problem with leaks as long as the cap is on. For a half century I've always used "expensive," refillable fountain pens, of which some are better than others. I ordered these to replace my EDP because the price is such that I could afford to have someone walk off with one. The ink flows well. I think the nib may be the same one as in the Pilot fountain pens. After a couple of months I've yet to find my medium nib ever to clog even with a week of non-use, and it never skips. The pens also have yet to ever leak on my hands or in my pocket, which I see as a huge positive. The major FLAW I've found in the Thornton pens is only among the brown ones, at least in this "batch." The caps on my brown pens tend to pop off in storage, in my pocket, or even immediately upon replacing the cap after writing. I first noticed it when I took my pen out of the case and the cap came out but the pen stayed behind. Playing with it a bit I noticed that the cap simply would not stay on the pen for more than a few seconds. It kept coming loose. It went about two months before that began happening, so I simply replaced it with another even though the first one still had quite a lot of ink (after all, they are only about USD1.25 each). Now, a few days into the second one and I notice I need to be sure the cap is well-seated before returning it to the holder. If I do, it stays on, but I have to remember to double or triple check how well it is seated. This leads me to suspect that in a week or two the cap on this pen also may stop being firmly fixed. So, first off, let me say that this isn't the case with other colors of the Thornton pens I purchased. I may simply have received an inferior batch of the brown pens. At least this is what I'd like to think. I'd order this brand again if reviewers suggest that they have remedied this flaw. EDIT: video added to show pen snapping open when placing cap. ... show more

These fountain pens write smooth, clear, don’t skip and are a joy to use. And they’re disposable! Also, I wanted brown ink which is hard to find in a cartridge but, I got these in brown for my journaling. Excellent.

    • Great pen Except the caps pop off
i initially liked the pens with good writing and ink. Then I found that the caps kept popping off and eventually the caps could not be made to remain on the barrel. In the pocket this leads to leakage; on the desk, drying.

Looking for an inexpensive and expendable pen to use at work, I tried these and was pleasantly surprised by the robust construction and reliable ink flow. All of the pens work, and all of the have the same colour ink, they produce a fairly reliable line and are comfortable in the hand.
