  • Good budget nail gun
I bought this nail gun since it was a fraction of the price as one I could get in a big box hardware store. I was looking for something that is battery powdered and could use a 2" nail and this was one of few options. It is easy to load but occasionally gets jammed and shoots out a few nails at once. It is also very sensitive to angle and I have to hold it very steady to get the nail in all the way. Occasionally the nail will not go in far enough and I have to use a hammer to get it flush or will go in too far. The minor blemishes can easily be covered with wood filler so it is not an issue. I use this for basic trim/baseboard work and it is good enough for my needs. Definitely worth the cost savings! ... show more

  • So far so good
I bought this to attach baseboards in my washroom and two bathrooms and had no issues. Used the 2" included nails and everything worked great. Definitely worth buying over a more expensive main brand.

  • A lot better than dragging air line and compressor through the house.
My air powered nailer is lighter and faster in the shop but when using it for trim this beats the air nailer hands down. The crappy material that is used for trim these days does not work with a hammer and finishing nails. A brad nailer is essential to trim a modern house. It takes me over half an hour to get the air lines run out to the far end of the house where I'm doing a major bathroom renovation and another half hour winding the hoses up and putting things away. I only have a few hour after work to get anything done and this nailer is a great time saver. It's just as powerful as the air unit. It's big heavy and clumsy compared to the air unit but the convenience and time saving more than make up for it. I don't know how it will hold up in the long run but I have a few cheep Chinese tools from 40 years ago that still preform well and I'm still using, others break as soon as I take them out of the box. This looks like it may last awhile. I'm very happy with this unit ... show more

  • Soft wood only
I'm new to brad nailers but this wasn't what I expected. It's made well but the nails and staples frequently don't go all the way in. It seems to be lacking power. I've only used this with pine but even a cheap pine 2x4 is to much for this gun to be reliable. It's fine if you're adjoining a thin pice to the 2x4 but it is the other way around it's unreliable. So keep that in mind ***Update item has failed. Will only shoot staples now so I'm returning it. Not sure why it is dry firing with nails only. Will be returning for refund. ... show more

  • Needing a nail and stapler combo? It works! And well.
I got this because I wanted something that did nails and staples for various projects (and was less expensive). And I found a lot more uses than I imagined. The original one was just fine, but it stopped working with some weird noises after 300-400 bangs / 60-days?. Weekend warrior here. So I contacted the company and within 24H they had some additional trouble shooting tips. Long story short - none worked, but the customer service was awesome and now I have a new one and it's doing just fine after 200 bangs. That is why 5 stars. It's heavy and would not want to do a day long project with it, but for my needs - just fine. I have a bunch of tools - some are used heavily and I buy DeWALT or the like; but others are occasional, so I have a Harbor Freight recip-saw :) ... show more

  • Not efficient
I disliked the fact that it wouldn’t take the standardized nails . You had to make sure nail heads were smaller than normal . Battery life was shorter than normal and it did not have enough power to drive 18 gauge nails all the way in . Should have had a back up battery because use only got maybe an hour of constant usage ! Wouldn’t recommend this tool ... show more

  • Powerful with everything you need, a larger battery would make a better set
with the tool, battery, charger, and a handy bag in this set, even included 2 types of nail samples. which is a great starter kit for people like me. In the past 2 weekends, I finished my shoe rack project for the garage with this nailer's help. So far my wife is very happy, that's the most important. Pros. a completed kit, powerful, easily through all my materials, easy to load the nails. handy since it doesn't require air. Cons. a little bit heavy, there are a few times the nails didn't get complete down, possibly because of the limited space so it wasn't fully pressed down. also, I hope the battery is 4Ah, to finish my shoe rack, I had to charge once in the middle. ... show more
