The first one I received had two bent corners and was missing a hinge pin. Notified Amazon and they were right on top of shipping out a replacement. We re-did our bathroom and installed a new tub. There wasn't any access door and the plumber needed one so this is the route we went. Nice quality, metal door. It looks like it has a locking feature, but it doesn't. A screwdriver will open it. I prefer it that way, just one less key to lose. Easy to install. Just do your measurements. I cut slots into the studs so the reinforcement iron could slide right into the slots. Used adhesive chaulking, laid down a nice line on the perimeter and in the slots. Set the door in place, put some pressure against it and waited for it to set.

As for the door, it's great! It's large and metal. No complaints. The only complaint is the packaging - the first one we got was damaged. So don't rely on this under a tight deadline. Considering the second was shipped exactly the same way, I assume your odds will be about the same as mine.

This is a very nice, sturdy, metal access panel. Installation is super easy, assuming you have the proper size hole already. Aside from that it opens and closes easily, and is great to have for places you need to get into from time to time, such as water shut offs and clean outs.

I got this product to cover an access hole that is located in my ceiling. Unfortunately, this access hole does need to be accessible every now and again, so it wasn't possible to simply drywall over it and cover it permanently. This cover really worked out perfectly for me because I was able to mount it into the ceiling using toggle bolts. I did have to make some adjustments to how this product would work for me in my particular application, but if you are using this in the way it was intended, you will find that it's pretty easy to install. The access door itself is not that heavy, but despite that, it looks really high quality and gives a nice, clean aesthetic. Before I got this one, I looked around a little bit for some other types of access doors at my local Home Depot. I was so surprised at how expensive these access doors are, so for the price I think you will find this one a wonderful value.

Access to my attic was previously provided via a wire and wood door inside of a closet. This is a huge improvement. The door is well constructed with a good weight to it. The frame is strong with little flex to it when not installed. The paint is nice with not peeling or chips. Once it was installed there was no flex to the frame and the door feels solid. I installed a wooden frame in my attic to attach the panel to. The lock is sufficient to hold the door shut and provide the curious kiddos from gaining access to the attic.

How are you supposed to open these things? And there is no back plate, didn't know if it'd have one or not, doesn't. Might just have to use these so I can't return but heed the key warning. No where on the box or packaging. Wth.
