  • Worth the extra money no loss in performance with RX 480 or GTX 980
Size: 200mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
I tried two other risers (the cheap ones that look like old gray IDE cables). Those worked ok with my EVGA GTX 980 but they did not work with my Powercolor RX480 (The Red Devil I think they call it? 1 fan 4GB of ram version). After much digging around the net it appears the RX 480 cards draw FAR more power through the PCI-E slot from the motherboard than most Nvidia cards do. I ordered one of these after hearing some good reviews. And it has worked great with BOTH my GTX 980 and my RX 480. If you're looking for a riser grab one of these, there may still be some GPU motherboard combinations that don't play well with this but its much higher quality and worth the extra few bucks. FYI Thermaltake also has a longer version up to 1meter (slightly different than this version) Linus from Linus Tech Tips tested those and was able to chain them and reach nearly 3 meters!. Over all I'm very happy with this wish I had bought it first. As soon as I tested it I ordered a second for the other GPU (building a 2 gamers 1 cpu system). If you are curious about performance I did lots of testing I'll share the RX 480 results here. Using my RX 480 card directly in a x16 slot here are the firestrike scores I achieved in 3D mark Firestrike Score 10346 Graphics Score 12823 Test 1 FPS 62.14 Test 2 FPS 50.56 Physics Score 13854 Combination Score 3658 Here are the scores for the exact same system the only change was putting the RX 480 GPU on this thermal take PCI-E Extension Firestrike Score 10716 Graphics Score 12776 Test 1 FPS 61.86 Test 2 FPS 50.41 Physics Score 13596 Combination Score 4241 Ignore the fact that it looks like it went up, slight change in temp in the room or some other anomoly the point is there was no performance loss with the extension with in an acceptable margin of error. I had the same results (no loss in performance) with my GTX 980 ... show more

  • Only buy premium, DO NOT buy 200mm.
Size: 300mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
Review for 300mm+ Premium riser cable: This cable is fantastic. Swapping cables solved all issues I was having with my PC, including issues that seemed unrelated to my GPU. First off - I was unable to overclock my RAM. Anything over 2533MHz was failing. Games would intermittently cut out or freeze or experience massive frame drops. After buying this cable when a Reddit user suggested it (claimed I may be having issues overclocking due to voltage loss in my 200mm riser), I'm OC my ram, processor, and GPU at the same time. This is power you experience while having a direct connection to the motherboard. Review for 200mm (included with ThermalTake Core P3 and P5 cases) - This sucks and will cause a headache. DO NOT BUY. Horribly shielded and too short to really use anyway. If you bought a Thermaltake case including one of these 200mm risers, I recommend replacing it with a properly shielded 300mm or longer premium cable. ... show more

  • Good but overpriced
Size: 300mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
This cable is very good quality compared to the one I received with my Theraltake Core P3 case. That being said... it's severely overpriced for what it is. Deducting one star for TT ripping people on cables.

  • Buy only a premium cable for vertical GPU setups!
Size: 200mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
Installed in a new build and GPU kept crashing/going to black screen on a vertical GPU build. Computer builder tested by removing the cable and installing GPU into PCIe slot directly and everything functioned as it should. I’ve been instructed to purchase and install a Premium Riser Cable and this will be resolved. Funny thing is the two best “Premium” cables are made by Lian Li and Thermaltake, so I’ll give Thermaltake one my shot at this with its premium cable. UPDATE: installed new Premium cable and problem resolved. ... show more

  • It's the perfect length, and after doing some benchmarks
Size: 200mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
Bought this as a PCI-E riser to vertically mount my GPU (gtx 1080 with a water block) in a Thermaltake View 71 TG. It's the perfect length, and after doing some benchmarks, as well as power checks, it has no negative impact on the card. I'd HIGHLY recommend this over the much more expensive 300mm version unless you really require the length for some reason. ... show more

  • It's better than Thermaltake's Core P5 cable for sure.
Size: 300mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
In comparison to the issues I had with the Thermaltake Core P5 riser cable, this cable is a dream. If any of you ever buy Thermaltake Core P5 case and use the riser cable that comes with it, then get ready for black screens and monitor graphic issues...all due to P5's near worthless riser cable. And what a headache problem solving when you go to clean your water loop and touch Thermaltake Core P5's cable. So this cable replaced P5's cable and has given me no issues. So far it's made my 1080Ti card shine. Playing ME4 I now hit over 150fps up into the 200fps. ... show more

  • Hassle Free/Easy Install
Size: 200mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
Super easy to install, no performance loss over conventional connection, a bit expensive though but I think given its brand name it's as expected. Will need about 1inch or 2inch clearance below where your GPU mounts for clearance of the connector. With that said though I haven't found a case with built in vertical mount which doesnt have that clearance. I would recommend this pci extender/riser to anyone looking to mount their GPU vertically. Included pics of my built. GPU is Nvidia RTX 2080ti Founders Edition. ... show more

  • Works great, looks great
Size: 200mm Style: PCI-E 3.0
I recently purchased a case that allows a vertical mount GPU, and purchased this as it matched the rest of the components (black). Thermaltake has always worked well for me in the past, and this extender didn't disappoint. There's a lot of debate online about PCI-E extender quality, performance, and durability, but this one is working just fine for me on a GTX 1080Ti SC2. I've had no trouble with durability or performance, and didn't have to spend extra money or wait extra time for a 3M variant. Plus the color matches. ... show more
