  • Serious PS
Size: 1500W Style: Titanium Pattern Name: Power Supply
New build: ASUS PRIME X470 ATX MB, 32 GB Dominator Platinum 3200Mhz, AMD 2700X, 2ea XPG SX8200 PRO 1TB NVMEs, 1TB Crucial SSD, Thermaltake RGB 1500W Plainum PS, Corsair 100 water cooler, 2 ea XFX black 580 8GB ddr5 gpus Works fine, so far. The reason for the downgrading to one star is the fact that the PS did not come with a USB cable. It appears that my attempts to contact ThermalTake failed, in that they are unresponsive concerning this issue. I paid over $300 for the unit. I expect ALL necessary cables to be with the unit. Plenty of power cables, but the one USB cable necessary to use the digital monitoring . . . ThermalTake just can't do it. ... show more

  • Possibly Ruined My $3000 Custom PC build
Size: 1050W Style: Platinum Pattern Name: Power Supply
I finally finished buying all the parts to my custom PC build. I purchased this thinking it was going to be a great psu. I plugged everything in and it blinked once and fried itself for no reason other then it was a POS. I tested it with a meter and no volts at all. It probably did damage to my motherboard. Haven't found out yet. This made me so mad I canceled my prime membership. $200 down the drain. Possibly even more if it didn't ruin my brand new custom pc build. I'll never buy anything from amazon again. Ive spent a lot of money here. I'm so bummed. ... show more

Size: 1200W Style: Platinum Pattern Name: Power Supply
Works as it should I have had 0 issues and have solved a few previous issues I was having due to power supply under volting. I had connected to Ups with no problems. Word of advice to anyone is use the power cables that came with your new power supply as at any giving time designs change and some times the pin out will change as well. 80% of negative reviews sound like human error. That said it's power supply and a lot of them come from some of the same factories that make other brands. I have tested all lines and they are within spec, I don't blindly connect power supplies to any system I build, so an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure type deal. I usually buy EVGA and I will update this if anything happens with in a year. Six month review: Going strong after 6 months 24-7 use no issues. I was hoping this PS was as bad as everyone else's and blow up my 6k rig but alas I won't be upgrading anytime soon it seems :( ... show more

  • Crossfire Rx580, Ryzen 5 2600, other stuff.
Size: 1200W Style: Platinum Pattern Name: Power Supply
I put this into a rendering rig. Worked fine. Tried using cables from 750Watt bronze thermaltake powersupply. No power to motherboard. Had to buy wire ties and completely remap all my old wires for the new ones. *EDIT* BUYER BEWARE Changed my 5 star review to 1 star. I had been using this psu for a few months before I started noticing problems. It absolutely does not like UPS setups. It will actually overvolt some rails and fry things inside the system if you're using a backup-battery. Becareful upgrading from the other thermaltake PSU models to the 1000watt. I had gotten the 24 pin mixed up and it turns out not all of THERMAL-TAKE's power supplies have the same electrical lines on the power-out rails. I fried my motherboard and was forced to buy a new one. Caved and bought a cheap Corsair cx750, not only does it comply with backup batteries, but it's been pretty reliable between three motherboards and 2 backup batteries. ... show more

After 2-3 months of use, it stop working and worst of all it is causing a short circuit in the house. I am filing for a refund. What is more annoying! I have to wait 2 weeks for the luck down to finish so i can take my PC to the lab and make sure it did not damage my other parts. Stay way from it...

  • Product arrived dead, Thermaltake PSUs are crap
Size: 1200W Style: Platinum Pattern Name: Power Supply
I bought this PSU to replace another Thermaltake PSU that worked for 2 years before becoming faulty. The PSU here is more than 3x more expensive with a higher quality rating (Platinum vs Bronze) and it arrived dysfunctional. After installation simply nothing worked. I verified that the PSU was the issue by testing other PSUs and components. This was an offensive waste of time and money and I will not be buying Thermaltake PSUs ever again. ... show more

  • Cannot use with UPS. Producing too much heat.
Size: 1200W Style: Platinum Pattern Name: Power Supply
Update: Maker confirmed the UPS is defect on the model. They issued RMA to replace other model, but I need to send them first. === I have UPS (CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD) and verified not working with this. When power outage, every other products are fine (PS4, Xbox, etc). Only the PC with this PSU shutdown immediately. Well I was not sure, but there are other 1 star reviews reported UPS issue. So I think it is known defect. I also noticed that when GPU is taking power, this PSU is the most producing heat. Not CPU or GPU, PSU is producing the most heat. ... show more
