I recently upgraded my PC cooling solution and decided to try the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital ARGB White, and I’m genuinely impressed with how much cooler (and cooler-looking!) my setup has become. Installation & Compatibility: Out of the box, the cooler feels premium. Installation took a bit of patience, especially with the size of the dual towers, but everything fit perfectly on my AM5 board. Thermalright includes all necessary brackets for both Intel and AMD sockets, and once mounted, it feels incredibly secure. The instructions were a little basic but manageable. Cooling Performance: Performance-wise, this cooler punches far above its price. I’m using it with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and under full load during gaming and stress tests, temps stay in the low 60s°C. Idle temps hover in the high 20s to low 30s, which is excellent for an air cooler—especially one in this price range. ARGB Lighting & Display: Aesthetically, the white design with ARGB fans looks beautiful and blends perfectly in my white-themed build. The customizable lighting is smooth and works flawlessly with my motherboard’s RGB software. The digital display on the top is a unique touch—it shows real-time CPU or GPU temps and gives a premium, modern look. Noise Levels: Even with two 120mm fans, it stays surprisingly quiet. During normal use or gaming, the noise is barely noticeable. It only becomes audible at high RPMs under heavy load, but even then, it’s not irritating. Minor Downsides: The only hiccup I encountered was the software for the digital display—it gave a few permissions prompts on startup, but once set up, it worked fine. Also, due to its size, it might have clearance issues in smaller cases, so double-check your dimensions. The Peerless Assassin 120 Digital ARGB is hands-down one of the best air coolers in its class. It offers premium cooling, a sleek design, quiet operation, and a neat digital display—all at a very reasonable price point. I’d highly recommend it to anyone building a high-performance rig who wants to avoid the complexity of liquid cooling. Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

This was exactly the look I was going for. Its quiet enough and provides plenty of cooling. Wish I did not have to reply on loading software for displaying temps and the likes. Also, if the machine is running a stress test (e.g., OCCT or Prime95), the unit seems to stop responding. This is the reason for giving it 4 stars.

Keeps cpu nice and cool, decently quiet. It is so large you may have to offset one fan to install it due to it hitting the RAM. That’s common in a lot of these big aftermarket coolers.

Good cpu fan overall very satisfied with it. Keeps temperatures at a reasonable level at all times for my Ryzen 5 7600X. Only a couple minor things about the design and the software. The fan comes with a black y splitter for a white CPU fan. Not a huge problem but should have been white. The software for the temp screen always asks permission when the device is powered on unless a workaround is done. The screen for the white edition also seems less quality than the black edition due to the light bleed.The screen for the temperatures is held on by very weak magnets and could fall off easy. they could be a bit stronger or secure a different way. Be careful of your ram size and your case size I had to raise the front fan a bit to clear my ram. The included thermal paste was also very thick almost a play dough consistency making it very hard to spread. Overall very happy for the price and features though
