  • What a unit!
Style: PA120 White
Very happy with this tower cooler, price to performance is insane while still looking good. I did purchase this for a future AM5 build but had to use it in my current main rig when my 5 year old AIO failed. So far so good cooling a 5800x. At this price point, I may need to buy a couple more so I have a stock of them 😁 ... show more

  • Best Performance / Cost.
Style: PA120 White ARGB
I paired this with an i9-11900k & i5-10600k for two different systems & they both run ice cold. This air cooler really can't be beat for the price & ease of installation. The variety of the mount ability is great but Make sure to measure before hand because the size a bit big but if it measures, it fits. Fans fun cold & it's not too loud even under full speed. ... show more

  • So far so good!
Style: PA120 White
I've only been running this cooler for a few days, so I cannot speak to its durability/longevity. But it's an air cooler, so really the only part(s) I can see failing short-term are the fans which are easily replaceable. Many will want to replace them for RGB or noctua ones anyway. My rig consists of a 5900x (which loves to run hot) and 9070XT for 1440p gaming. I'd been using a 240mm AIO for a couple years beforehand, which recently failed, and this $40 cooler (so far) does a better job than the AIO. Opting for an all-air solution in my case just makes sense since I have five intake fans this new cooler can take full advantage of. I play a variety of games, and when my AIO couldn't keep temps below 80-85C under load, this cooler keeps temps between 65-70C. Doing light gaming and less-demanding tasks, this thing's even more chilly. I'm using the thermal paste and two 120mm fans it comes with, and both seem adequate. There have been some comments mentioning high-pitched or abnormally loud fan noise, but my unit has been extremely quiet. Even when fans ramp up, nothing sounds out of the ordinary. ... show more

  • Good quality
Style: PA120 White ARGB
Looks to be high quality. Just on the large size. Make sure case cpu clearance height works first. my first case from an older build did not.

As a PC enthusiast who demands both performance and aesthetics from my components, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Black CPU Air Cooler has truly impressed me. Here’s why this cooler stands out as an exceptional choice for anyone looking to upgrade their cooling solution: 1. Outstanding Cooling Performance: The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 features six heat pipes that effectively dissipate heat from the CPU. Paired with the TL-C12B PWM fan, this cooler provides exceptional airflow and thermal management. Even under heavy loads and overclocking scenarios, my CPU temperatures remain impressively low. This cooler keeps my system stable and performing optimally, even during intense gaming sessions or demanding productivity tasks. 2. Quiet Operation: One of the key highlights of the TL-C12B PWM fan is its silent operation. Despite its powerful cooling capabilities, the fan runs quietly, even at higher RPMs. This is a significant advantage for those who prefer a quieter computing environment without sacrificing cooling efficiency. The PWM functionality also allows for precise control over fan speeds, further optimizing performance and noise levels. 3. Sleek and Stylish Design: The all-black design of the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 adds a sleek and modern look to my build. The fan blades are sturdy, and the overall construction gives me confidence that this cooler will provide long-lasting performance without any issues. 6. Versatility and Compatibility: The Peerless Assassin 120 is compatible with a wide range of CPU sockets, making it a versatile choice for various builds. Whether you’re upgrading an existing system or building a new one, this cooler is likely to fit your needs. Its compact size also ensures that it doesn’t interfere with other components, such as RAM or GPU, which is a common concern with larger air coolers. 7. Value for Money: Considering its excellent performance, quiet operation, stylish design, and high build quality, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 offers great value for money. It delivers premium features and performance typically found in more expensive coolers, making it an outstanding choice for budget-conscious builders who don’t want to compromise on quality. • Great but might need custom fan settings in BIOS
Style: PA120 White
When I first powered up my new Gigabyte motherboard with Ryzen 9700X I was disappointed with how loud the cooler fans were, even with the "silent" setting for the fan control. That was Gigabyte's fault. All of their fan control settings seem to be designed for an AIO cooler not air cooling, and trying to keep the CPU under 60 C even though it's fine running at 95 C 24/7. I needed to go to the custom fan profile and manually drag all the fan speed points to the right so the fans stay slow and quiet up to around 70 C, then only increasing as temps reach 75, 80, 85 which are all still safe. The fans now run quiet until CPU use hits 50% and are still quiet-ish even then. I can probably tweak it a bit more to be even more quiet. ... show more
