I think there's a whole industry around the idea keeping a PC cool has to be much more complicated and expensive than it really is. For building my 13 year old son's gaming PC, he chose this cooler, and it works perfectly. It keeps CPU temps well within an acceptable range, and we don't notice any unacceptable noise from it. Using it to cool a Ryzen 7 7700X 8 core CPU. Used ARCTIC MX-6 thermal paste rather than what was supplied- thermal paste is generally so cheap just get the good stuff and be certain. The only "issue" and not in any way this cooler's fault, is the somewhat unusual way AM5 mounting works- we would never have figured it out without watching some instructions, but this cooler works great for his AM5 system. The RGB lighting was a bonus for my son- this is his first rig where he's actually paid attention to even caring that there is lighting, and this looks great and works well with the RGB software. For an average gaming system if you're spending a whole lot more for cooling than this- I would question why exactly. ... show more

Would highly recommend! Had a Corsair aio, pump died on year 4 and needed something quick to play Warzone2. This was just over $20 total with next day shipping. Installed in 10 min and now it sits around 60c while in DMZ! Comes with everything including thermal paste, which I used to check the mount because I haven't used a mounting bracket like this before but it looked perfect. I did however final mount with arctic mx4. Pros: Price point is unbeatable 5 heat pipes with direct contact Fan is quiet, and argb 16hr shipping Cools overclocked 1800x in AAA games White finish looks amazing Cons: Feeling douped because I could have saved $100 on this cooler vs an aio, had better performance and a quieter PC. ... show more

On Idle with the thermalpaste included I get around 30c-29c on idle and when I encode 4k videos with handbrake It's between 69c-73c. 73c is the max under load when I have very slow settings and x2 pass on Handbrake. I don't consider that too bad because before this I was using Amd's stock Wraith Prism cooler which worked good for about 2 years until the fan for some reason stopped cooling properly and I would hit 103c with the Wraith Prism cooler. I can't believe AMD would give such a cruddy cooler with their cpu that it would eventually stop working properly. They do and I had to buy this cooler to replace it and this was fairly cheap. I think it sells for about $29.99 USD but I had a 6 dollar gift card I used from amazon and brought the price down a bit to around $25 and some change after taxes. I only have one major complaint about this cpu and that's the fact that the led lights on it won't work with my b450 tomahawk motherboard. So I had to order a part under 8 dollars that supposedly will allow me to use the led lights on the fan with my sata cables from power supply. Oh yeah I think the fan and cooler with the white color look beautiful for my white pc case. I don't really like how ghetto rigged the metal parts are to attach the fan to the cooler but I guess at this price point you can't really complain about that. I mean it does it's job. I'd recommend this cooler for anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money but still get pretty good cooling. I was tempted to go with a AIO Cooler but didn't really want to spend more money and I was paranoid if the cooler would mess up that if it leaked it could possibly damage my $629 Gigabyte RTX 3070. So I felt like an air cooler made more sense even though in my other gaming rig I have an 100i Corsair Cooler that has worked without any issues for years but Corsair is a really good brand but they're not exactly cheap to purchase. I actually think this air cooler might even be cooling better that my AIO cooler for my other pc. However I forget if the i5 4670k on my other pc runs hot or not. Ryzen might run a little cooler so maybe not a fair comparison. Either way nothing wrong with an Air cooler unless you prefer a certain aesthetic look to your pc. Cooler seems nice but very disappointed that there's not a second set of mounting clips for attaching a second fan. My coolermaster hyper 212 came with a second set of mounting clips for a second fan and so did my brother's Vetroo V5. Thermalright has also included a second set in their other single tower coolers but not this one? ... show more
