  • It's the Real Deal
Style: X-large - 30 X 77-inches
5'10" 325lbs. Yep big boy. Camp often with a scout troop. Been eyeballing this for years. Figured no way it would hold me. It does and it's so comfortable! For week long camps I've used an inflatable mattress or full cot. In cold weather the inflatable just makes my back colder and very stiff in the morning. First use last night was 30 degrees, paired with a Big Agnes Pad and Bag and was super warm and very comfortable. Should've purchased years ago! ... show more

  • Don't sleep on the ground.
Style: X-large - 30 X 77-inches
Solid, lightweight design. Works well in my one man bivy for a complete system that packs out easily. Large enough for head-toe sleeping for two of my younger sons in pinch.

  • Better than lying on the ground, but..
Style: X-large - 30 X 77-inches
There are a number of issues with it. -First, it is bulky. I got it for moto camping and it is heavy. Hikers need not apply. -Next, it does take some effort to put together. Maybe it'll get better with time? -It's expensive. -I question the quality of materials. The plastic pucks make me cringe while setting it up. I'm waiting for one or more to crack under pressure. -Gonna eBay it and go back to self-inflating mattress. ... show more

  • I have to admit, I didn't want to like it.
Style: X-large - 30 X 77-inches
2 yr update (2019) - everything below still stands - cot is still providing great sleep with zero problems No bent aluminum, no problems with fabric or stitching. I use this cot every single time I camp. This is the XL, and it's a bit challenging to get it setup inside my Fjallraven Abisko 2, but it can be done when handled carefully. Also, I've found that I don't need to double the rods between the support legs under my head or my feet. Interestingly, I have also discovered that the cot mesh, when rolled tightly will fit inside of the circular support feet along with all of the aluminum suspension rods and side poles. Makes for a very tightly contained package and I don't need the small zip bag and the unused suspension rods, saving a couple ounces on total weight. Not a huge concern for car/motorcycle camping - but as an older guy with creaky joints, this thing is going with me on backpacking trips. Not as a luxury item, as a must-have item. Also, for those who don't use a sleeping pad on the cot, it can be very warm even in cold weather by using any combination of reflective emergency blanket or relflectix along with strategically stuffing clothing or a woobie blanket under the cot (not between you and the cot mesh) to eliminate convective heat loss. I've also used a hammock underquilt beneath it with great success. May 2017 - I had poo-poohed the very idea of this cot. I was very wrong. Once I put a pad on it, it was fantastic. for those purchasers who are bending rods and/or bottoming out (me+pad+bedding=235 lbs), you have to remember the design spec calls for twisting the doubled rods. The other thing that was difficult at first, but is becoming easier as it breaks-in is assembly inside a tent. You don't want to assemble this outside the tent in the rain. It's mesh and takes a long time to dry off. If you're on a pad, it's not such a big deal - you just sponge out the tent floor in the morning. Anyway, the more I use it the more I like it. I considered the Helinox Cot Max, but that was nearly twice the price. I could also fix this while camping. I'll use this for car and canoe camping, and motorcycle touring, but I don't know about backpacking. It's not small when packed. Time will tell. ... show more

  • Great cot, might be too heavy/bulky for longer trips but sure is comfortable
Style: X-large - 30 X 77-inches
I finally got to test this cot out in the wild this weekend, and it worked out really well. Assembly and disassembly is time consuming since if you got the XL model like I did there are more crossbars to put down. Also make sure this thing will fit in your tent with room to spare, I just went by measurements as I was ordering both my tent and this cot new - the cot barely fit into the tent and I would have been pretty bummed if it hadn't. I am 6'4 and 235 lbs and this cot supports me very well and is easy to get in and out of. I do wish it had slightly more clearance off the ground, but due to how it gets put together, I don't think it is possible. You will probably need to get a stuff sack for the poles for this cot, the included container is very bulky and did not seem suitable for being packed in to me. I put the mesh component in my sleeping bag compartment, the poles in another bag outside on the tent, and the plastic feet looped together in another compartment. The feet are just a pain to have to try and pack so I am going to try and continue to figure out a better way to do it. The feet are the biggest hassle, and almost annoying enough for me to consider removing a star - but it is counter balanced by the XL version of this cot being the largest you can buy. My friend on the camping trip had the ALPS mountaineering cot, and it also looked nice - it is a little heavier but seem to pack down smaller, has higher clearance, doesn't have the annoying plastic feet but it is smaller. The fact that I can sprawl out on my stomach, back, or side with this cot still gives it the edge to me but do your research! ... show more
