I absolutely love this crochet kit! It had ample yarn, a crochet hook, stitch markers, a yarn needle, and little eyes to complete the look! The instructions are very clear and the video tutorials, as well as extended troubleshooting instructions, were so helpful and easy to follow! The kit is definitely a little bit pricey, but I think it’s definitely worth its weight. This was my first time attempting crocheting anything other than a chain, and I am very happy with the result! I've been enjoying how this kit and the video instructions teach you some great basic stitches like Single Crochet and Increase! I'm a nooby and trying to learn through youtube has proven... extremely frustrating. With this, I've gotten the hang of how to hold my yarn and hook, keep track of stitches, read basic patterns, and maintain even stitches. Great basics! Great way to learn :). Now for some minor/major complaints depending on what you want from these kits. After Rnd.2 everything gets confusing. I drew out my own pattern for Rounds 4 and 5 (where I left off before writing this) to keep myself from getting too confused, it's pretty easy and I recommend doing that. Tally marks can get frustrating and I'd rather just count my stitches and look at the pattern to see where I should be. Second, the price is a bit steep but I'm more than happy to support this awesome small business. My wallet will be crying though... and that's on me, but these kits feel like they can get addictive fast! I can't wait to see what else the people at Woobles will come up with! ... show more

This is the basic kit to start with if you are new to crochet, or haven't been able to get the hang of it. I tried crocheting a few times before with books, but didn't get it until this kit. I'm glad I started with the blue penguin because that is what all of the intro videos use to teach the techniques. The videos are short and bookmarked, so you can easily go back and rewatch them.
