  • Neat, BUT BAD CIRCUITRY
I don't think I read the product description well, since I didn't realise this was battery powered. What a fun surprise. Pros: -Cuts what I want it to cut (mostly and almost exclusively plastics/acrylics), but we'll get back to that in the "cons" section -The battery seems weirdly hefty -Lightweight but not cheap feeling. Cons: -The complaints that this "melts" and then cuts are well founded, SO... if you want to cut something to 1in I'd suggest going 1/16th over then sand down to size. - This is a dangerous "con", the charging port leaks power. I found this neat "feature" out when I plugged in the charger without plugging it into the wall and the LED indicator lit up on the charger. That's some potentially dangerous circuitry design at this price range. Conclusion: While better models are usually nearly 2-3 times as much, for the price, it works but you are not getting a professional or even "prosumer" level kit. It does technically do what it says it does, but not at the quality it says. It melts too much, and you'd be better off just buying a hot knife for the same effect. ... show more

  • The little cutter that couldn't
I wanted to love this, but it is so limited in use that it's impossible to justify the price. The ergonomics are terrible - the coiled cord pulls away from what I'm trying to work on. The blade is tiny, but it's not good for detailed work because the handle is so bulky and you have to hold down a button with your forefinger the whole time. If you need to cut flat, thin, rigid items, this could work for you. ... show more

  • Cuts like buttah
I've had this for a few weeks now. An associate suggested that I try on for removing supports from 3D resin prints. I was sold after cleaning up the first part. Once you get used to it, you can make a very smooth cut. This alleviates a lot of secondary sanding time before sending the parts off to the paint shop. We have processed several hundred fragile prints without the risk of cracking a part using Xuron or another brand's angle cutters. Saves time repairing broke parts which also saves us shop time. It really works great and is extremely easy to learn. ... show more

  • Great tool for plastic cutting with precision and low force
This cutter makes an easy job of tricky slicing operations especially when you want to open something up carefully to look at the interior. I use it both for hobby and for work and have found it to be much more effective than other cutting methods. I highly recommend it especially when you have to make cuts around sensitive components such as electronic boards or other functional parts. The beauty is that minimal force is required, thus allowing more precision. The tool is relatively well designed an ergonomic although it does feel a little small and the button for activation is in a position that could be better located. Overall this is a great tool especially if you’re looking to do precise operations. ... show more

  • Weak and unreliable
It’s a cool concept but the device is weak and unreliable. After a few uses I had to order a new collet for it. Then it’s worked again, and then it died again. I think I got maybe 8 uses out of it before it totally died. I like battery and size. Like others said, when you place the handle back it triggers the button. If it was reliable I’d give it a 3, but it’s fragile and parts are very very hard to get. ... show more

  • 3D printing cleanup made easy
I use it for post SLA 3D printing cleanup and it makes that a snap. Pricey yes but it’s makes it much easier. I was hesitant in getting such an expensive single purpose tool but I’m glad I did.

  • broke after 2 hours
it stopped working after 2 hours, we purchased a second one which also burned up is ~3 hours. Bad design too, the push button is pressed when you put the tool in the holder which can cause it to burn itself up too unless you put it in the exact vertical orientation

  • Worse than having nothing at all.
This product is useless for cutting plastic. It seizes up after minutes of use, and must be precision cleaned and sometimes it’s cheap, brittle blades and easy to lose micro-components changed out. It is sometimes a worse thing to buy and have a tool that is supposed to do a thing, than it is to have no tool at all. I would not recommend for busy scale modelers, props professionals, or serious creatives. In fact, I wish I’d never bought it at all. ... show more
