Where to begin. I had been familiar with Cathy Kinkaids work through shelter magazines for years but never knew who was behind the beautiful interiors until this book. The use of soft pallettes mixed with warm to deep tones is simply devine to the eye. If you like beautiful Interior Design Coffee Table books on timeless Traditional style you will love this well written with gorgeous photography of well done and styled traditional rooms. I highly recommend this book and i can only hope she will do more of them! Buy it you will not be disapppointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and viewing the exquisite photos. Each home is beautifully detailed, with many layers – wall coverings, fabric, lamps, art, and objects – all adding up to warm and welcoming interiors. There are 11 homes, each featured in its own chapter, including the designers own home. There is plenty of inspiration to draw from! The book concludes with a list of resources. My only (minor) complaint with the book is that some of the rooms described in the chapters are not included in the photos. It would have been nice to increase the length of the book just a few pages to include them all. ... show more

This book was mentioned in a video by interior designer Bunny Williams. I am so glad I purchased it. Cathy Kincaid has assembled photo after photo of beautiful, timeless rooms. It has become one of my favorite design books for inspiration.

I enjoyed looking at this book but I did not care for the designer's use of color. The homes were lovely but lacked the impact that I would have expected. The best home pictured in the book belonged to the designer. It had more color and items of interest than the other homes. Bunny Williams wrote the forward for the book and I say I'll take Bunny Williams design over these any day. I can't recommend the book. ... show more

I have many interior design books. Sometimes they can be a bit disappointing but this one truly is over the top wonderful. I have been collecting for years and have seen trends come and go. The latest trend of cool colors, pale blues, grays etc are for the most part just boring and all tend to look alike. This book has it all! What can I say? I live in Dallas and Cathy is an ICON and blessed name in the interior design world. She was breaking glass ceilings before it was even a thing.
