  • A Timeless Christmas Classic That Never Loses Its Magic 🎄✨ A Timeless Christmas Classic That Never Loses Its Magic 🎄✨
Format: Hardcover
After years of reading this every December, I can honestly say The Polar Express has become one of those rare books that truly holds up over time—the story is calm, magical, and quietly meaningful, with illustrations that feel almost cinematic and invite kids to linger on each page; it’s especially lovely for cozy nighttime reading and works well for a wide age range since younger kids enjoy the visuals while older kids start to grasp the deeper theme about belief and wonder, though it is more reflective than action-packed, so it’s best for slower, intentional read-aloud moments rather than high-energy storytime. I highly recommend this item & I hope this review is helpful 👍🏻 ... show more

  • Nostalgic And Simple Nostalgic And Simple
Format: Hardcover
The Polar Express is popular with almost everyone. I had to purchase this book for my sister. She loves the movie and book alike. To be honest, I prefer the movie. The book is very different and straightforward. The movie has so much more. I find the book beautiful and great for kids- though I appreciate the lovely/additional scenes in the movie. The book is simple and easy to read- provides easy to follow reading for kids. The pictures remind me so much of past Christmas holidays- very nostalgic. Overall, I recommend this book for kids/adults alike. ... show more

  • Perfect for Christmas traditions Perfect for Christmas traditions
Format: Hardcover
I love this book so much. Growing up my dad would pick out 3-5 books and display them and then let us pick one to read on Christmas Eve so of course when I had a daughter I wanted to have the same books for her to read on Christmas Eve. The art in this book is lovely and rich. It just feels like Christmas and the winter time. The pages are buttery and thick. Overall I highly recommend this book for family traditions during the holidays. It terms of reading allowed the font size is around a 14 (see photo) and the story itself is not too long. The pages are big and bright so perfect for kids to see while you are reading. ... show more

  • The Book That Inspired The Movie (And Will Inspire You Too)
As the title suggests, this is the book that inspired the movie. While the book provides the general framework for the movie, there are many scenes and storylines that are absent from the book. This said, I am grading the book on its own merits while providing observations regarding the differences. The first key difference is the artwork itself. The book's simple watercolors do not match the rich color and detail of the movie. It is more akin to something that you would see in a children's book from the early 1900s. Even so, it affords the book a certain "antique" quality that is quite in keeping with the timeless story that it tells. The book's construction is exceptional with heavy, glossy pages held together by a tight binding. The book itself is contained in a very nice dust jacket that conforms very well to the book's shape. This book is perfect for display on a coffee table around the holidays or perhaps in the room with your Christmas tree on a small table. The book holds an audio CD containing a narration acted by the great Liam Neeson. (He did the voiceover for the lion Aslan in the Narnia movies.) His deeply resonant voice flows like the Polar Express' signature hot chocolate. The CD is perfect for playing in your children's room while they go to sleep or in the car while you drive around a country road taking in holiday lights. Without providing any spoilers, the book's theme is about the magic of the secular Christmas tradition. In a way, it emphasizes the importance of maintaining a childlike sense of wonder and appreciation for Christmas. While the book is in fact secular, it does contain an underlying message of believing in things that you cannot always see. All in all, I am deeply pleased to give this holiday treasure 5 stars. If you love the movie as much as I love it then you will love this book too. ... show more
